Durex ‘The Unequal Dinner’ – #ComeTogether, Unveiling the Pleasure Gap: Study Highlights Inequality in Bedroom Satisfaction

According to a recent study, a concerning inequality has been discovered between men and women when it comes to sexual pleasure. The study, conducted by renowned condom brand Durex among Filipino individuals aged 18 to 34, reveals some eye-opening statistics. Shockingly, 22% of Filipino women admitted to not experiencing orgasms during sexual encounters, while a staggering 64% expressed a desire for greater satisfaction in the bedroom.

In stark contrast, the study found that 70% to 100% of men claimed to achieve orgasms during sex. These findings prompted Durex to initiate a thought-provoking social experiment known as “the unequal dinner.” The purpose was to provide male participants with firsthand experience of the dissatisfaction felt by their female counterparts.

During the event, women were treated to a sumptuous feast, while men were intentionally subjected to a meager serving of bread, ice-cold soup, and inattentive waitstaff. One particularly memorable moment was when some women requested skipping the appetizers and going straight to the main course, echoing phrases often uttered by men such as “we don’t have time for that.”

The impactful conclusion of the experiment came when the bill arrived, displaying the words, “Craving for more? That’s just how women feel after sex. Ask your partner.” This powerful message aimed to spark open conversations about sex and pleasure, fostering a progressive shift in the way these topics are discussed in the Philippines.

The ongoing progress in normalizing discussions around sex and pleasure in the Philippines is evident in recent years. By shedding light on the existing pleasure gap, Durex hopes to bring about positive change and promote equal satisfaction for all individuals in the bedroom.
