Because of You – A Message from the Future | A Futuristic Awareness Campaign that Sheds Light on the Long-Term Impact of Teen Bullying

Recently, TBD and Ad Council joined their voices to address the problem of teen bullying. As part of the ‘Because of You’ campaign, the two created a digital film titled ‘A Message from the Future’. In essence, the campaign addressed the long-term effects of bullying. However, it also demonstrated the impact of inclusion, encouragement, and empathy.

As it begins, the film showcases teens listening to some recordings. However, the catch is that the recordings feature the future-selves of their friends. But, that’s not the moving aspect of this campaign. Instead, it is the relationship shared by the person in-frame and the viewer. The former happens to be a survivor of bullying. The latter is someone who helped the former in doing so. As the film progresses, it unravels the power of kindness. By the end, the teens watching the recording realise something profound. They understand how stepping up for someone can have an everlasting impact.

Simply put, the creators of this anti-bullying campaign adroitly handled the intricate subject matter. We appreciate their diligence and stand in support of bullying prevention.
