Climate Clock: A Haunting Spectacle That Must Be Taken Seriously

Metronome, the life-sized digital clock situated in Manhattan, underwent a facelift. Instead of showcasing 24-hour cycles, the clock adopted a new role. Post 27 Sept 2020, the clock displayed the time we have left before climate change makes us extinct. To maximise Its impact, the Climate Clock’s display stayed the same until the end of world climate NYC.

Understandably, the intent here was to give climate change the coverage it deserves. According to the Climate Clock, we barely have seven years to become a zero-emission planet. If we fail to achieve this target, the results will truly be catastrophic.

Given the magnitude of the threat we’re facing, Metronome’s recent avatar is far from sensational. On the contrary, we feel that it is the need of the hour (pun intended).
