‘Uncertain Terms’ – A campaign to prevent sexual exploitation and human trafficking of children

Children of the street society - human trafficking

When you send someone a naked photo you don’t always know the terms and conditions. Once a photo is sent you can be pressured for more compromising images and be threatened to have your photo sent out to those you know.

Canada’s Children of the Street Society, an organization that is dedicated to preventing the sexual exploitation and human trafficking of children, has rolled out a campaign to warn young people about the dangers of sexting.

The Campaign focuses on the issue of sextortion, or the use of sexual images to blackmail for further images, videos or sexual favours. It features a series of three teens who receive warning messages as they are about to send an explicit photo. These “Uncertain Terms” are not always provided in real life and serve as a warning to others about the dangers of images sharing and sexual extortion.
