<p>FCB Inferno worked with BMW on the campaign which will run across print, in social media and online.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>When a friend turns the years, what better than to make a good greeting. Whether you are a person or a company, the beautiful gesture is worth it for all the moments and stories that you have spent together. For this reason, BMW wanted to do something special to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the BTCC (British Touring Car Championship), one of the most beloved, illustrious and famous automobile competitions.</p>
<p>Since its creation in 1958, the BTCC has stood out for its uniqueness, its own regulations, dedicated figures who competed in it, and most importantly, it has won millions of fans around the world. For this reason, BMW and the FCB Inferno agency wanted to celebrate by creating a collection of five posters representing each decade of the brand&#8217;s participation in the championship.</p>
<p>From the 60s to the 2000s, each graphic is designed especially for its time, combining art styles with the participating cars of that era. The idea was to highlight the &#8220;passion for BMW racing&#8221; through these designs. The exclusive posters were available at a stand of the company in Snetterton Circuit on July 29. The people who have had the luck to get some, have taken home a piece of the history of the sport of cars.</p>

<p>Cape Town-based director Kyle Lewis, who recently signed to Egg Films for commercials representation, has released Ungovernable, a new ad for the first-ever BMW X2</p>
<p>OpenCo’s creative team of Kyle Schoeman and Nicola Sprawson invited Kyle to workshop the script with them. The piece is an ode to “those who tear normal up” – something Kyle’s become known for himself.</p>
<p>“BMW is a great example of why we’re so excited to represent Kyle for commercials,” says Colin Howard, Egg Films’ managing director. “Kyle is now getting opportunities to show his broader talent, with advertising as his main focus.”</p>
<p>Kyle thanked everyone he worked with on BMW, including producer Will Nicholson, DOP Willie Nel, editor Jade Bowyer (PostModern), stylist Nola Williams, art director Gerhard van Zyl and composer Tapiwa Musvosvi.</p>
<p>Having made his name as one of South Africa’s most acclaimed music video directors, Kyle transitioned seamlessly into advertising with Egg’s sister company, Arcade Content, where his instinct and flair for African youth culture has been in demand with everyone from Absolut to Nike to Volkswagen over the last three-and-a-half years. Recent advertising accolades include a Gold Loerie and Silver Bookmark and Apex awards.</p>
<p>Arcade Content will continue to represent Kyle for brand films and music videos; he’s represented in the UK by Black Dog Films &#8211; the music video arm of RSA Films (Ridley Scott &amp; Associates), which also reps the likes of multiple Grammy and MTV VMA winner Jonas Akerlund.</p>

<p>Featuring a DNA strand made from BMW parts and a tear-off DNA saliva swab, which people are encouraged to lick before finding their nearest BMW Genetic Engineering Centre, the print ads will be running in key national press titles.</p>
<p>Each customer’s DNA will be analysed thoroughly to provide a detailed human specification that BMW’s team of Genetic Engineers can use as a blueprint from which to create the driver’s unique vehicle specification.</p>
<p>From gear ratios calibrated to someone’s individual appetite for excitement, to interior finishes reflecting the driver’s unique genetic lineage, BMW’s Head of Genetic Engineering, Prof Jean Splice, claims to be able to “tailor every nanometre down to your last chromosome”.</p>
<p>Professor Splice continues: “We have removed all of the stress from buying a car. Gone are the days of questioning if a car is right for you – you will know through highly advanced scientific technology that it is your precise genetic match.”</p>
<p>FCB Inferno worked with BMW on the campaign which will run in print, on social media and the BMW website. The images used are a hybrid of the Watson &#038; Crick Double Helix DNA strand and traditional car parts – clearly demonstrating the link between genetics and BMW’s new configuration service.</p>
<p>FCB Inferno’s CEO Frazer Gibney says: “We are thrilled to have been part of the inception of such new and innovative technology. Simplifying the decision making process is going to have such a positive impact on consumers lives.”</p>
<p>And according to Professor Splice, this project is just the beginning for BMW. “With genetic mapping more advanced and available than ever before, we are at a tipping point in the history of personalisation. Our vision is to create a world where a person’s DNA is used to tailor their lives uniquely to match them with genetically bespoke products and services. We believe that cars are the ideal place to start – what could be more enjoyable than driving a car that is your exact genetic match?”</p>

<p>The dashcam footage – or ‘#DasherCam footage’ as it’s been dubbed on social media – was taken unwittingly by drivers of The Ultimate Driving Machine, and appears to catch Father Christmas and his faithful reindeer in the act; making their way around the world delivering presents at light-speed.</p>
<p>Sightings have been pouring in from as far as Australia and India, as well as from across the UK. One particularly close encounter saw one BMW owner being woken up by presents falling from the sky. Another, slightly unluckier BMW owner, was left frustrated by piles of less generous ‘presents’ left by a midnight gathering of reindeer on his front lawn. “It wasn’t until I looked through my dashcam footage that I realised Santa and his reindeer had been prancing all over my lawn. They were captured on film, as clear as day!”</p>
<p>BMW has been urging all drivers to now check their dashcam footage from Christmas Eve and the early hours of Christmas Day, and to share any sightings of their own.</p>
<p>Created by FCB Inferno, the work will be live on Facebook, Instagram Stories, Twitter on 24th and 25thDecember.</p>
