<meta itemprop="description" content="About Campaign:
When an order from McDonald’s arrives, the sound of the doorbell immediately creates a rush of emotions in people – something McDonald’s calls ‘happy chaos’. McDonald’s launched its exclusive delivery service with the help of its own employees, who were perfectly placed to capture the buzz that people feel when a McDelivery arrives. Cameras were installed in the delivery crew’s hats, creating the first campaign featuring real, spontaneous photos gathered by a delivery crew. The photos used in the campaign all have the necessary legal permissions and rights granted by the people who appear in them.

In a bid to celebrate the joyous moments that accompany home deliveries, McDonald’s in Colombia, through its DDB affiliate, has launched the “A Second of Happiness” campaign. With the home delivery service gaining immense significance in the Latin American country, this campaign aims to authentically portray the happiness experienced by consumers when their McDonald’s orders arrive at their doorsteps.

The innovative approach taken by the multinational giant involves incorporating cameras into the caps worn by the delivery personnel. This ingenious move allows them to capture genuine and candid moments as the customers receive their much-awaited orders. The campaign features a collection of authentic photographs, all skillfully captured by the dedicated McDelivery workers.

The McDonald’s Delivery campaign in Colombia is a meticulous process that involves the capture of hundreds of photographs. Each image undergoes a thorough selection process, and legal permissions from the subjects are obtained to ensure the campaign’s authenticity and compliance with privacy regulations. To enhance the campaign’s impact, iconic moments in history have been integrated into the creative process.

According to a statement from the DDB Colombia agency, “This action made it possible to demonstrate that happiness sometimes only takes a second.” The McDelivery workers, who play a crucial role in the ‘A Second of Happiness’ campaign, have taken hundreds of photographs featuring different people in their homes and workplaces. The best among these images have been carefully selected for the campaign, ensuring that all necessary legal permissions and rights have been obtained from the individuals portrayed.

In summary, the “A Second of Happiness” campaign by McDonald’s Delivery in Colombia is a testament to the brand’s commitment to capturing and celebrating the fleeting moments of joy that their service brings to customers. Through genuine and candid photography, this innovative approach not only showcases the happiness of consumers but also emphasizes the importance of these brief moments in our lives. McDonald’s continues to lead the way in delivering not just food but also happiness, one second at a time.

Discover the perils of social media through Deutsche Telekom’s thought-provoking ad ‘A Message from Ella’, showcasing the power of deepfake technology. Gain insights into the risks of oversharing and the importance of responsible data handling in the digital age.

In today’s ever-evolving digital landscape, it is crucial to understand the potential hazards associated with sharing an abundance of personal information and experiences on social media platforms. Whether it’s documenting our vacations, weddings, or even the birth of a child, once these images are posted online, they become accessible to anyone without any restrictions.

To shed light on this issue, Deutsche Telekom has unveiled a candid advertisement that employs artificial intelligence (AI) to manipulate the image of a child, showcasing how she might appear in the future. The ad titled ‘A Message from Ella’ features a sophisticated deepfake version of the child, convincingly imitating human movement and speech, which leaves her parents astounded when they encounter their daughter projected on the big screen at the cinema.

Uli Klenke, Chief Brand Officer, commented, “Telekom provides the finest and most secure network infrastructure, but alongside accessing this network, we must also equip ourselves with the necessary knowledge and tools to ensure the safe and responsible management of our data on the internet. As the field of artificial intelligence advances, it presents both opportunities and risks. In this advertisement, we allow AI to caution us about its own capabilities, simultaneously emphasizing our fascination and awe. We must learn to navigate both aspects prudently.

The New Zealand AIDS Foundation needed to help fight the stigma of HIV by showing the world that through effective treatment, people living with HIV have an undetectable viral load, meaning they can’t transmit the virus to another person.

On World AIDS Day 2019, alongside NZAF, Body Positive and Positive Women NZ, we launched Sperm Positive: The World’s First HIV-Positive Sperm Bank. The online sperm bank gave men living with HIV the opportunity to become sperm donors, creating a story shared in 94 countries to an audience of over 1.8 billion, and showed the world that HIV could not be passed on in the most undeniable way possible – childbirth.

Now, Sperm Positive isn’t just changing beliefs; it’s changing lives. To date, four babies are due, 32 women have registered as recipients, 27 HIV-positive sperm donors have joined, and at 2:05 pm on January 27th, 2021, the first baby from an HIV positive sperm bank was born, creating a living proof that HIV cannot be passed on. She’s a girl.

UNESCO: #QuestionsThatMatter | World Press Freedom Day “The sovereignty of the people and…

UNESCO: #QuestionsThatMatter | World Press Freedom Day

“The sovereignty of the people and the freedom of the press are two entirely correlative things,” Alexis de Tocqueville. Some crises can act as revelators. What was striking during the Covid-19 crisis was this deep dependence on public goods such as water, transit, health infrastructure, and equipment… Goods are so common that we forget how vital they are. Information is one of those fundamental assets. The role of journalists in a society is to inform, investigate and denounce. More than just a right, press freedom is the sine qua non-condition for any democracy.

If people do not know what is happening in their society, if their leaders if economic, moral, or religious powers act under the veil of secrecy, no one can act. Through 5 symptomatic questions of today’s world and by confronting readers directly with the effects of censorship, UNESCO asks us about the individual and collective consequences of a lack of press freedom. Without this possibility to ask questions: those that annoy, those that disturb, we are all deprived of information, and by the same action.

To silence a journalist is to silence all of us.

Délégation à la Sécurité Routière, or French Road Safety, was looking for a…

Délégation à la Sécurité Routière, or French Road Safety, was looking for a new approach to raise awareness on the risks we take every day on the road, especially during the holiday seasons. After a gloomy year and as French citizens started to recover greater freedom of movement, it was the right time to try something fresh and new, which may be less dramatic and dark than usual. The Road Safety campaign had to target all drivers and make everyone feel concerned, which is the main challenge for these campaigns. People never perceive themselves as risk-takers. But we all, at some point, make mistakes.

Many road safety communications use feelings of fear and guilt to change people’s behaviours on the road, showing the worst that can happen. They wanted to try the opposite approach: an entirely positive celebration of life. The strategy was to compare people’s deepest desires to all the immediate temptations on the road, like answering a phone call or running a stop sign. Then, they looked for the most relatable execution. They didn’t want to show over-the-top unforgettable moments, but rather the simple, ordinary, cheerful slices of life, like a guy singing in his bath, a couple making love, a father and his child and a family playing a game. All these small moments make life worth living.

Challenges: The first challenge was to find suitable scenes. They wrote dozens of moments before choosing the right ones. It couldn’t feel scripted; it had to be very simple, almost nothing, yet something nice to watch. The second challenge was more of a direct one: make all these little stories sound true to life. They had to capture the perfect choreography, light and acting in one single take. Director Arnaud Desplechin did a great job, and his long experience in cinema certainly helped.

KiwiRail, along with Tracksafe NZ, launched the Near Miss Memorials campaign at the parliament of New Zealand during Rail safety week. The campaign is being run with the help of DDB. There is an astonishingly high number of near misses happening with train drivers at level crossings due to car drivers and pedestrians’ carelessness. Many times these incidents turn out to be Fatal.

Half Crosses are being installed at all the level crossings where near misses have occurred. The crosses are provided with a QR, which everyone can scan to see videos of real Near miss incidents that happened at that particular place. Those who cannot view these half crosses can visit the nearmisses.co.nz website to watch the same videos with an interactive 3d rail journey.

This campaign acts as an eye-opening visual for New Zealand residents to be careful while crossing level crossings, highlighting the importance of their life and the train drivers’ problems.

ETNA promotes an activation on Black Consciousness Day and initiates a furniture name…

ETNA promotes an activation on Black Consciousness Day and initiates a furniture name change. In partnership with TracyLocke | DDB brand creates a movement “Etna Mute Servant” that aims to abolish the expression “criado-mudo” (nightstand).

On Black Consciousness Day, ETNA, one of the most prominent decoration retailer in Brazil, will begin a movement to abolish the word “criado-mudo” (nightstand) in the Brazilians’ vocabulary. This expression came from the time of slavery when the slaves used to be standing the entire night by their "owners" bed and always available for work. This is a simple initiative that marks this important date for society. Now, ETNA will start calling the furniture as “bedside table”.

The movement will happen gradually until all physical stores and brand sites receive new communication. Parallel to this, Etna will invite other companies in the segment to abolish this market name along with it. Retailer suppliers will also be asked to exclude the racist term from packaging, manuals, and invoices.

The idea is to extinguish the name and make a minimal part of the difference to the issue of racial equality. To this end, TRACYLOCKE BRASIL I DDB, has created a 360 campaign and hashtag #CriadoMudoNuncaMais to make this commitment.

“Small gestures help transform the world. We want to show with this initiative that we can, even with historical facts, make people think differently and understand the importance of the current moment in Brazil and the world, which still faces so many cases of racism,” explains the agency’s CCO, Rodolfo Barreto.

For the movement to reach even more people, a movie has been aired in the digital environment showing real people telling the origin of the furniture name. They were invited to open the drawer of a nightstand and read a letter. When they finish, they discover how something that seems so simple shows the historical reality about the slaves. The idea is for people to forward the content forward so that the action has even more impact and the term racist is excluded from the vocabulary of Brazilians.

“We want to be simple and objective, proposing that people stop thinking of small acts and that can greatly change the way we approach racial issues in our country,” says Karina Alfano, Etna’s executive manager.

The Uncensored Playlist Online press censorship is on the rise globally. Meaning that…

The Uncensored Playlist

Online press censorship is on the rise globally.

Meaning that in a large number of countries, people are unable to access many independent blogs and news sites, denying them their right to free information.

On the 12th of March: World Day Against Cyber Censorship, Reporters Without Borders Germany created a digital loophole to evade censorship.

Introducing: The Uncensored Playlist. While press freedom is not available in the worlds most oppressed societies – global music streaming sites are.

Five acclaimed independent journalists from five countries suffering from strict government censorship teamed up with Musical Director Lucas Mayer to turn 10 articles that had previously been censored into 10 uncensored pop songs. These songs were then uploaded onto freely available music streaming sites. Allowing these stories to be slipped back into the countries where they had once been forbidden.

For the very first time, reporters have become music artists to bring the truth to those that had once been denied it.

Join the fight! Get to know the brave journalists, the stories behind the songs, and share The Uncensored Playlist using our hashtag #truthfindsaway. Together we’ll show oppressive governments all over the world that they can’t silence freedom of information. No freedom without media freedom.

Tua Tagovailoa, the 22-year-old footballer, dubbed ‘the most talented quarterback in the NFL draft’, is the star of a new campaign for PepsiCo’s Muscle Milk brand protein drink, created by adam&eveNYC.

Tua Tagovailoa knows a thing or two about building muscle, but he claims there’s an essential one that Muscle Milk can’t help build. The quarterback says this mysterious muscle is one you can’t see in the mirror, yet it pulls you out of bed to get to the gym at five in the morning. This muscle pushes you day in and day out until you reach your breaking point. Tua recognises that Muscle Milk helps to build muscle, but having a heart is what truly builds strength.

A little over 80 years since the first Beetle rolled off the production…

A little over 80 years since the first Beetle rolled off the production line, Volkswagen is bidding farewell to the iconic model which well and truly cemented itself in both motoring and advertising history. With the first Beetle produced in 1938, its international breakthrough moment took place 20 years later following its arrival in the US market and the release of ‘Think Small’ and ‘Lemon’, two DDB ads that immortalised the Beetle as a statement of modern design and popular culture. In celebration of this rich legacy, Volkswagen and DDB NZ’s The Last Beetle campaign is here to pay homage to the iconic car and its lasting impact.

Our surroundings are a breeding ground for out-of-the-box thinking. They are the canvas…

Our surroundings are a breeding ground for out-of-the-box thinking. They are the canvas upon which creatives paint their imagination. For instance, to a layman, a brook is nothing more than a body of water, but to Alfred Lord Tennyson, it was a poem. Even though it is true that traditional forms of advertising exist inside a well-known framework, there has been an influx of new disciplines within this creative pursuit that achieve their goal by defying conventions. One such form of advertising is ambient advertising. By definition itself, any form of advertising that exists in a medium where it is not expected to be can be termed ambient advertising.

In some of the most innovative displays of this advertising style, creatives have materialized their vision by attaching their ads onto everyday objects. For instance, IBM’s Smart Ideas for Smart Cities campaign turned a public bench into a poster. In yet another example of ambient advertising, an Indian ad agency turned escalator-steps into pages of a hairstyle catalog for a hair salon’s marketing campaign. Another offbeat advertisement of the same category advocated the dangers of air pollution on the walls of an industrial building with a smokestack.

Such advertisements work by catching their target audience off-guard, thereby grasping a bigger portion of their attention compared to traditional marketing campaigns.

Here are some concrete examples of the decade’s best ambient advertising:-

Netflix gave a body to Italy’s most iconic middle finger

La Casa de Papel tells the stories of modern-era Robin Hoods specialized in taking over symbols of financial power. To celebrate the launch of the third part of the show, Netflix did just the same.

Two days before the official launch, Milan woke up to discover that the statue of a 15mt high, red-hooded thief had taken over Piazza Affari: the seat of Italian financial power. It did so by turning the giant middle finger created by visionary artist Maurizio Cattelan, placed right in front of the Italian stock exchange, into its hand.

The night before the launch, the takeover of Piazza Affari was completed with a public premiere screening of the first two episodes of the third part, surprising more than 5000 enthusiastic fans gathered in front of the statue.

During the whole official launch period, from the 18th and to the 22nd of July, more than 57.3K posts have been published, generating over 1.6 million interactions.

NRDC.org: Air Pollution Kills 60,000 People a Year

The Inaccessible Transit Shelter

We made a transit shelter completely inaccessible by closing it off with glass. The headline ‘Feeling Left out?’ was quickly paid off with the copy “Over 400,000 Torontonians living with disabilities do, too.’

McHive – The World’s Smallest McDonald’s

Some of McDonald’s restaurants in Sweden have beehives on their rooftops. The initiative started locally but is now growing. More franchises around the country are joining the cause and have also started replacing the grass around their restaurants with flowers and plants that are important for the wellbeing of wild bees. To celebrate the initiative, which is part of McDonald’s Swedens sustainability work, we created what could be the world’s smallest McDonald’s – a fully functioning beehive.

Partnering with social media influencer and body confidence campaigner Chessie King, we launched…

Partnering with social media influencer and body confidence campaigner Chessie King, we launched a campaign #TrollingIsUgly for the Cybersmile Foundation using Instagram stories to demonstrate the devastating effects that cyberbullying can have on young people.

43% of UK secondary or high school children have been exposed to online abuse and one in four have suffered repeated incidents. But no one is talking about it. It is a common form of bullying for this age group, especially among young women, and can lead to depression, low self-esteem, low self-confidence, self-harming, social isolation and, in the worst cases, suicide. Brief was to shine a light on some of these issues, raising awareness for Cybersmile, and the support that they offer.

“We wanted to unearth and expose the pain caused by cyberbullying in an environment where it naturally breeds. What better place to do this than the Instagram platform? By working with Chessie King, a body-positive influencer, we wanted to create a movement that sparked conversation, outrage, and a united rallying cry. We tried to hold up a mirror to trolling; while the trolling was ugly, the response was beautiful. We turned the negative into a positive, creating a groundswell of support.

Cyberbullying charity The Cybersmile Foundation put internet trolling in the spotlight in a ground-breaking way. Over 24 hours, we manipulated influencer Chessie King’s appearance in response to real negative comments in a live Instagram story. She became uglier in response to each comment, culminating in a shockingly distorted final image. Ultimately, we showed the internet that ‘Trolling is ugly.’

The campaign started with a post on Chessie’s Instagram about body confidence. The post got over 150,000 views in the first 12 hours. We then co-created content with Chessie throughout the following day, in response to genuine negative comments from online trolls. This content was posted as a series of photos and videos to Chessie’s Instagram Story. With each post, Chessie became more and more distorted, eventually appearing in an unhuman-like form: an amalgamation of the Insta-hater’s comments. On 12th April, it was revealed that Chessie’s alien-like transformation was, in fact, a collaboration between The Cybersmile Foundation and us, with people being directed to their website for help and advice. News of our campaign spread like wildfire, hitting the headlines online and offline in a matter of hours. Through hashtag strategy and management, this combined voice is now in every social channel surrounding the Cybersmile platform. And it’s still growing.”
