In late 2022, filmmaker Enrico Poli and Undervilla, a production company based in Bologna, Italy, came together driven by their shared passion for the iconic AF1 shoe, to create a film that would pay homage to the shoe’s 40th anniversary while celebrating its significance in various realms such as sport, music, fashion, art, the street, and the city. The Nike Air Force 1 silhouette has been a canvas for countless artists and designers over the years, but Poli and Undervilla believed that no other model could connect people across different ages, cultures, and languages like the white-white AF1.

The profound idea of people from diverse backgrounds choosing the same clothing item to express their individual style inspired the title of the film – ‘We Are 1’. It symbolizes the unity that the AF1 brings, transcending differences and promoting inclusivity. It also serves as a metaphor for the collective effort to eliminate division in society and encourages embracing the multifaceted aspects of our inner selves.

The team’s goal was to create a timeless film that would resonate with both younger and older generations, conveying the rich heritage of the Nike Air Force 1 Shoes. This sparked a debate on the language to be used in the film, considering the shift in recent years towards more aesthetic and visually-driven storytelling in brand communication. The chaotic nature of today’s world where images come and go quickly without leaving a lasting impact was taken into account. This approach may be contemporary, but it can be disorienting for those who grew up in the 80s and 90s, which includes many AF1 users.

As a result, the decision was made to blend contemporary language with a classical hero’s journey structure in the film. The film features flashing images, glitches, and uplifting music that create a sense of chaos, but there is also a underlying structure, a basic narrative that can be appreciated and understood by people of all ages, and that will stand the test of time. ‘We Are 1’ aims to capture the essence of the AF1’s cultural significance while presenting it in a way that is accessible and enjoyable for audiences now and in the future. It encompasses much more than just a shoe – it represents a cultural phenomenon that has stood the test of time and continues to inspire generations of wearers around the world.

The 54-Second Watch campaign by Fondation Emergence. Every second, thousands of victims worldwide…

The 54-Second Watch campaign by Fondation Emergence. Every second, thousands of victims worldwide are claimed by homophobia and transphobia. Due to intolerance, the life span of LGBTQ+ persons is reduced.

Fondation Emergence created a symbolic object, a 54-second watch, to highlight this injustice. 6 seconds less for every colour of the LGBTQ+ flag. The watch was created as part of an awareness campaign for May 17th, the International Day against homophobia and transphobia. For more, visit: http://www.54-secondwatch.com

May 17th is not yet officially recognized by the UN; thus we’re launching a petition to make it happen. In addition to wearing the watch, you can show your support by signing the petition: https://chng.it/rSfX7hqJ4k

The 54-second watch is an initiative of the Fondation Émergence, a non-profit organization fighting against homophobia and transphobia. For more, visit: https://www.fondationemergence.org/

Heetch is the best alternative to Uber in France. But how to spread…

Heetch is the best alternative to Uber in France. But how to spread the word when Uber is everywhere? Especially with Uber Eats, the leader in food delivery. Well, the brand transformed Uber Eats into Uber Heetch. The first Uber service that delivers its competitor’s ads.

Paris-based ride-hailing app Heetch has low awareness in a market dominated by Uber. With a limited budget of €15,000 ($17,000) and no media budget, Heetch wanted to create a campaign to raise awareness of its brand and convince Uber users to choose Heetch instead for their next rides.

Working with Marcel, Paris, Heetch identified restaurants around Paris that deliver their food to customers using Uber Eats. Working with these restaurants, Marcel created 12,000 Heetch-branded meal boxes designed to transport the food made at those restaurants, such as burger boxes and noodle pots.

Each piece of packaging was printed with a message such as ‘We too are hungry, but not for our drivers’ money,’ ‘We won’t make you change your favorite meal. Just your ride-hailing app’, and ‘Your pizzeria pays its taxes in France. Why not your ride-hailing app?’ – all targeted at Uber.

Heetch distributed the packaging for free at its chosen restaurants and the stunt launched on the evening of Sunday 21 March (Sunday night is when Uber Eats most active). When customers ordered a participating restaurant on Uber Eats, they were presented with the custom Heetch packaging.

The Gender Salary Experiment campaign created by Terre Des Femmes is a dramatic…

The Gender Salary Experiment campaign created by Terre Des Femmes is a dramatic proof of the gender pay gap. Different gender, different salary, same person.

The average salary difference between men and women is referred to as the gender pay gap. According to the Federal Statistical Office of Germany, women earn 21% less than men on average.

There is an unadjusted and adjusted pay gap. The latter takes into account the structural differences regarding the employment of men and women. For example, women are more likely to work in social, lower-paid occupations, work part-time more often and are less likely to have managerial positions.

The adjusted pay gap is 5.5%. Hence, the pay gap in Germany is vast compared to other European countries, with only Estonia and the Czech Republic having a more significant difference.

Jung von Matt/SAGA and Terre Des Femmes’s Gender Salary Experiment proves that gender plays a much bigger role than one would care to admit. In the world’s first, the non-profit organisation sent three transgender people to a job interview twice: once as a man and once as a woman. Two almost identical resumes were developed so that the “two” candidates bring the same skills and experience to the table. The interviews were filmed with hidden cameras, showing how women are treated differently than men, especially regarding their paycheck.

Doconomy launch the world’s first credit card with a carbon footprint limit, Do…

Doconomy launch the world’s first credit card with a carbon footprint limit, Do Black. The launch of this premium card marks the first milestone in the support that Doconomy provides to the UN Climate Change secretariat (UNFCCC) to encourage global climate action. Do Black not only helps users track and measure CO2 emissions associated with their purchases but also puts a limit to the climate impact of their spending.

Doconomy, a Swedish fin-tech startup for everyday climate action, has worked with Mastercard to develop this revolutionary tool for consumers wanting to act against climate change. Do Black also invites the user to offset their carbon footprint through projects meeting the criteria of United Nations certified green projects. Put, the first card ever to prevent consumers from exceeding their limit, not based on credit, but on levels of CO2 emissions caused by their consumption.

“We all need to come to terms with the urgency of the situation and rapidly move towards more responsible consumption,” said Doconomy CEO Nathalie Green. “With DO Black there are no more excuses.”

“Through our collaboration with the UN Climate Change Secretariat and MasterCard, DO will enable people to do their part to contribute to the carbon-reduction goals of 2030 and onwards,” added Green.

FCB Warsaw and AXA, one of Europe’s leading insurance firms, created AXA Smartbell with RDS technology to help make the roads less dangerous for cyclists. Every day, in cities around the world, cyclists are struck by cars because they are not seen or heard. The Smartbell equips cyclists with their first-ever “bike insurance,” a bell that transmits a signal through car radios to alert drivers about approaching bicycles, allowing both cyclists and vehicles to safely share the road.
