The Undeniable Street View

In the face of a year-long brutal invasion and relentless targeting of civilian areas in Ukraine by Russian forces, the Undeniable Street View project emerged as a beacon of truth and accountability. Partnering with influential organizations and using the world’s first war zone shown in Street View, this initiative provided an unfiltered look at the harsh realities faced by the Ukrainian people. By leveraging over 100km of raw Street View footage across six cities, the project allowed global audiences to “bear witness” to the atrocities and see the impact on civilian areas and infrastructure. With features like before-and-after comparisons, it served as a unique historical document submitted as evidence to the Office of the Prosecutor General in Ukraine. Despite facing cyber-attacks, the site garnered an impressive 2.3 million visitors from 115 countries in its first two weeks, spending an average of four minutes exploring the harsh truths. With $54.2 million in earned media and 23 million impressions, the Undeniable Street View not only stood as a testament to the power of truth but also ensured that every visitor became a witness to the undeniable crimes against humanity.

Nikon: The Golden Billboard

Nikon and Mediaplus transformed traditional OOH advertising spaces into an innovative photographic experience with ‘The Golden Billboard’ activation during the Photopia fair in Hamburg. This outdoor studio, created by combining a billboard with gold-plated film and a Nikon camera, served as an adjustable light reflector. Participants could have professional photos taken or capture their own perfectly lit pictures with advertising. The Golden Billboard, in various sizes, became instant Instagrammable moments, and a QR code directed users to the Nikon school for further education on utilizing light. This innovative approach garnered attention, with influencers and visitors sharing their experiences online, resulting in a social media reach of over half a million views and an activation that reached 130,000 people.

EasyPark Group: In space

EasyPark Group, a pioneer in parking innovation and smart mobility for the past two decades, has extended its mission beyond transforming city parking systems to making Earth more livable. In a playful response to the surge in UFO sightings globally in 2023, EasyPark, on October 10th, collaborated with the Grimeton Radio station World Heritage Site in Sweden. Utilizing the station’s longwave transatlantic wireless telegraphy capabilities, EasyPark compressed and converted app codes into a signal, launching their parking apps into space. The aim? To provide potential extraterrestrial lifeforms with the ability to effortlessly manage parking upon their arrival on Earth. This creative and lighthearted initiative showcases EasyPark’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of innovation in unexpected ways.

Back Market – Hack Market

Hack Market is a sustainability-focused campaign created for Back Market, Europe’s top marketplace for refurbished tech. The initiative strategically intercepted the tech purchase journey, urging buyers to consider the environmental impact of their choices at the point of buying new devices. For Earth Day, Back Market utilized Apple Stores as a platform, leveraging Apple’s AirDrop technology to convey messages promoting a greener alternative. The campaign extended its reach through influencers and video content, enhancing the impact of the in-store activation.

Human Rights Foundation: Forced Labor Plug-in

The Human Rights Foundation (HRF) responded to the Uyghur crisis by launching the ‘Uyghur Forced Labor Checker,’ a Chrome extension targeting the fashion industry’s involvement in supporting forced labor camps in Xinjiang. With over a million Uyghur Muslims subjected to detainment and forced labor, the extension empowers consumers to make informed choices by revealing brands linked to these atrocities. By redirecting users to the HRF website, it encourages activism and provides a list of ethical brands. The Uyghur Forced Labor Checker has impacted profits in eight countries, intervened on major fashion brands’ websites, blocked over 1000 sales, and influenced at least one global retailer to eliminate Uyghur forced labor from its entire supply chain.

Ensure – The Sock Tech

Embark on a fascinating journey into the world of low-tech marvels with a unique solution in Thailand that challenges the misconception about the importance of muscle among the elderly. Facing the need for a brilliantly simple approach, the campaign introduces “Sock Tech.” By encouraging the elderly to assess their muscle strength through the everyday task of putting on a sock while standing, the low-tech solution yields remarkable results. Leveraging online influencers and engaging content, the cost-effective strategy achieves a 51% engagement rate among the entire population, amassing a staggering 105 million impressions. The heartwarming impact extends beyond numbers, creating cherished family traditions and demonstrating the extraordinary results achievable through simplicity and innovation. In a tech-dominated world, “Sock Tech” showcases the power of ingenious, low-tech solutions.

AWA: The soap that cleans the rivers

ANDEA, in collaboration with creative agency Fahrenheit DDB and Peruvian innovation start-up Cirsys, has introduced a groundbreaking solution to address water contamination caused by traditional clothes washing practices in rivers. With 159 million people globally relying on untreated water sources for washing, the AWA soap utilizes a probiotic microorganism capable of feeding on pollutants in rivers. Derived from months of research, AWA soap improves water quality during laundry, exhibiting up to 75% efficiency. ANDEA generously shares the formula with governments, non-profits, social enterprises, and soap manufacturers, offering a sustainable solution to mitigate the environmental impact of cultural practices and improve community health.

These are just a few examples of the many campaigns that utilized technology to achieve remarkable results in 2023. As technology continues to evolve, we can expect to see even more innovative and impactful campaigns emerge, pushing the boundaries of marketing and transforming how brands connect with audiences. The future of marketing is undoubtedly tech-driven, and these campaigns serve as a powerful inspiration for brands to embrace innovation and create truly unforgettable experiences.

Procure is a Quebec charitable organization dedicated to prostate cancer. Its mission is to educate, support, spread awareness, and fund research.

Prostate cancer represents 20% of cancer that men suffer from, so it wanted a way to encourage them to give to a cause that directly affects them.

In an effort to diversify the sources of donations, Procure and Rethink decided to create an innovative donation method specifically designed for men that both raise awareness and funds.

Another interesting fact is that 80% of men keep their wallet in their back pockets. This statistic inspired the agency to create an object that would facilitate the donation process for men, creating the first connected chair that could raise funds by simply sitting down.

Rethink designed an iconic and recognizable object that would be associated with Procure and would make it fun to donate. It made it blue, the organization’s color, and chose a very simple chair design to make it easy to transport and place anywhere.

The chair was then fixed on a plate of the same color, listing the 3 easy steps to donate. The chair’s seat has an integrated NFC contactless payment system that can automatically collect a small donation every time someone sits on it.

Following two years of consultation and intensive international negotiations, the 193 Member States of UNESCO have agreed to adopt a normative framework on the ethics of artificial intelligence, combining impact-oriented actions and universal principles. Among the issues covered by these actions and principles, probably one of the most urgent is the right to privacy.

Privacy is a human right. And even Artificial Intelligence must respect it. To launch our AI ethics recommendation, UNESCO is proud to introduce you to The Cookie Factory.

On 17th June 2021 in St Petersburg on the territory of Sevkabel Port – the new urban space in the city where modern trends and technology are combined, the world’s first-ever sculpture that creates musical compositions aided by the wind and artificial intelligence for the Saint Petersburg Electrotechnical University.

Radio LETI BIT is the first online radio station where the music is created by the sculpture itself, weather conditions, and complex neural network algorithms. The sculpture is modeled like a radio, from which 144 fine rods emerge, ranging in height from 4 – 5 meters and visually reminiscent of human DNA. When it’s windy the rods touch and create a sound.

Inside the monument is a computer with neural networks and piezoelectric transducers that measure the oscillation of the rods. Based on the range of oscillations artificial intelligence, just like a composer with a huge base of sounds at their disposal creates a musical composition which can be heard right on the spot by using the audio columns built into the structure itself or in any part of the world by tuning into the online radio station letibit.ru. The wind is such that just like the music, the variations are endless, and therefore it never repeats itself.

The year 2020 has been tragic for many of us, but the only…

The year 2020 has been tragic for many of us, but the only good thing that happened is the great surge in the number of people getting viral this year. Two teenagers from Italy named Carola and Vitoria went viral when the video of them playing tennis got viral, but this was not just an ordinary tennis match where you play on a flat surface on the ground level. This was The Rooftop Match of Tennis.
Road safety is an important thing, and when it comes to the protection…

Road safety is an important thing, and when it comes to the protection of one’s child, it gets even more critical. The Australian child restraint laws consider a child’s age an indicator of when a child should move out of a booster seat. Royal Automobile Club of Victoria (RACV) and Transport Accident Commission (TAC) launched this campaign to place the Booster seat Icon on the clothing tags on all the clothing fit for the children below the height of 145 cm. The booster tag will remind all the parents because if the clothing still fits their child, he probably hasn’t attained the height of 145 cm yet.

Experiential researches show that height is a more appropriate and precise indicator. The researchers also indicate that 97% of children turn seven by the time they do not attain the height of 145 cm.

The initiative gets even easier to implement since the size of Australian clothing is standardized. Every Australian clothing brand can adopt the booster seat Icon since the icon is open-sourced.

The result of this campaign has been very positive since there are already many brands partnering with them.

Skateboarding will soon be an official Olympic sport, but skateboarders are still not taken seriously by the public. Skateboarders are not treated like athletes. People and security guards often get too violent with the skateboarders to stop them from skating. To remind skateboarders of their rights, Vans transformed every right shoe of their Vans pro classic into a reminder for Skaters Rights, including Civil rights and how to face the police. These rights are essential for the liberty of Skateboarders and getting them the same treatment as professional athletes.

Behind the Source of some of the websites we use daily, are lines…

Behind the Source of some of the websites we use daily, are lines of code by talented developers who’ve had to overcome the hardships of war and political unrest. Here are their stories.

Background:
Between 2014 and 2015, tens of thousands of refugees came to the Netherlands, mainly fleeing war in Syria and Eritrea. Even though many of them were given residency permits, today they are still struggling to find work. Hack Your Future, helps them become web-developers through a 7-month program — empowering them by unlocking a career within big names of the tech industry. But even with a shortage of developers in the Netherlands, stereotypes and stigmas are still blinding many recruiters, preventing them from looking outside of their usual pool of talent. The ambition of ‘Behind the Source’ is to address this very issue and to open recruiters’ eyes, one code line at a time.

Being a refugee wasn’t their choice.
Becoming a developer was.

Idea:
‘Behind the Source’ is an awareness campaign launched by Hack Your Future (a coding school for refugees) that aims to reframe the conversation around refugees and tackles the many misconceptions, stigmas and prejudices that shadow their potential when it comes to applying for a job. It consists of seven portraits that have been hidden in the source code of the online homepages of companies, such as eBay and Accenture, where Hack Your Future graduates now work. All people have to do is go on these websites — such as Ebay and Accenture — click ‘View Source’ in their browser to discover the portraits, hidden in the code, and read the exceptional journeys of those who went from refugees to employees.

Results:
In the end, a potential of +24000 visitors went behind the source, reframing the conversation around refugees in the Netherlands, and beyond — even getting the initiative referenced by the UN Agency as best in class. Thirteen new companies contacted Hack Your Future to hire graduates and sponsor the program, which eventually raised the number of graduates who successfully found a job to 120: 120 individuals who refused to let a label define their future.

Irrespective of our nationality or religion, we’re all human beings at the end…

Irrespective of our nationality or religion, we’re all human beings at the end of the day. However, the separations inherent to this world often defeat said oneness. Even with families living across the globe, we can’t always meet our loved ones. With visa rejection doubling in the US alone since 2016, the situation has only worsened. Thankfully, a campaign by Virgin Atlantic Airlines and Martini addresses this problem head-on. It even presents a solution. Titled AirTime, it aims to reconnect loved ones separated by physical borders. To achieve its outcome, Air Time will facilitate passport-free international travel. How exactly? By chartering private planes to travel across the globe. Thanks to Air Time, a lucky few will get a chance to meet their friends and family. The campaign is pretty ambitious and seems to have its heart in the right place.

All in all, we feel that AirTime gives us a unique lens to reevaluate global differences. Ultimately, it advocates for love being the supreme emotion.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup left in its wake unforgettable moments… as well as 3 million Budweiser plastic cups. Instead of just throwing these away, the brand together with BOOTLEG Agency decided to do something special and used these cups to build Recup Arena, a football pitch made entirely out of recycled materials – Budweiser Recup Arena.

The red-and-white polypropylene cups were melted down into granules and then stretched into threads that would go into making the 65 x 34 meter pitch, with the subs’ benches and even the drainage system also made of recycled beer cups.

Gamer Therapy: your toughest opponent doesn’t have to be yourself. Traditional gaming stereotypes…

Gamer Therapy: your toughest opponent doesn’t have to be yourself.

Traditional gaming stereotypes have become outdated. Many still associate this popular pastime with violence or suicide, but recent studies have found that people increasingly use games to build meaningful connections, open up about their feelings, and de-stress. You could say it’s a form of therapy, a way to cope with a whole new set of anxieties brought on by 2020.

Bolt Save your ears In Ukraine, there are a lot of traffic accidents.…

Bolt Save your ears

In Ukraine, there are a lot of traffic accidents. Around 30 thousand people get injured, and more than 3 thousand die every year. Hundreds of dead could have been saved if they used seatbelts. Transportation platform Bolt, BBDO Ukraine and DGTL RLGN production studio launched a campaign to make people fasten seatbelts. For this project, they created a song that people can’t stand. This annoying song was playing very loud in the car until all passengers fastened their seatbelts.

“In modern conditions, we have to hurry up to be in time. However, haste, carelessness and an unfastened seat belt can be costly on the road. We have always taken care of the safety of all road users. We are very pleased that the BBDO team shares our values, so we are happy to join the project, ”says Bolt Regional Manager Taras Potichny.

“Usually social advertising tries to scare us. And of course it doesn’t work. It is difficult for us to try on a terrible situation: “This will never happen to me. I don’t even want to think about it.” And something funny and unusual, on the contrary, is remembered by itself. I would like to talk about this later. I was looking for the aspect that the passenger will definitely pay attention to during the trip. Which can change his behavior. Music, ”says Dima Kishka, author of the creative idea of Creative Group Head BBDO Ukraine.

Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd has made history with the world’s first vertical stage…

Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd has made history with the world’s first vertical stage gig performed by Mabel at the grand opening of Samsung KX – London’s new destination to experience the latest in culture and innovation, powered by Samsung technology.

Celebrating 50 years of innovation by showcasing a glimpse into how we could live in the future, the new space offers guests a taste of a fully connected lifestyle with a range of experiences featuring cutting-edge technology. From fashion and fitness to science and street dance, local thought leaders gathered in Samsung KX to mark the official launch with a conference that crowned creativity in the capital.

Exploring futuristic trends, research shows that 94% of smartphone users are now engaging with their devices vertically, while 79% find vertical videos the most interesting. As a result, Samsung KX concluded the launch celebrations by creating the ultimate vertical stage performance both on and off-screen, optimised for the crowd to capture and share instantly across social media.

The first-of-its-kind set boasted a stacked three-story stage over 9 metres high, allowing all elements of the gig to be seen and heard in a vertical symphony. Pop and R&B star, Mabel, who is local to King’s Cross, performed with her band, DJ and dancers across multiple levels, so the crowd could get the perfect shot.

The vertical gig took place under the iconic kissing point in Coal Drops Yard, home to the newly opened 22,000 sq ft Samsung KX experience space – a place of discovery for those living in and visiting London. The new destination serves as a live example of how we could live in the future, offering guests a more multi-sensory experience to inspire people to push their limits, discover and learn, powered by Samsung innovation. This is the first of many events to be held at the space, each tapping into community passions and Samsung’s brand ethos to ‘do what you can’t’.
