The Last Word campaign by WWF. Watch how we killed a 4,000-year-old word to keep elephants alive

Hong Kong is the world’s Ivory trade capital. But because the word for “Ivory” translates to “elephant-tooth,” over 70% of Chinese people believe Ivory extraction is harmless. We needed to pressure the government to ban the trade.

Idea: Change the law by changing the language. Hong Kongers Joined forces with linguistic experts to co-create a new word for “ivory.” Each word was also a petition signature. We showed the harm caused by a simple word and created lasting cultural change.

Result: The HK Government banned the ivory trade in January 2016.

KFC F for Family Given the current state of the world, wearing protective…

KFC F for Family
Given the current state of the world, wearing protective masks and practicing social distancing has become the norm. Well, even the offices of multinational corporations remain shut-down with households doubling up as workplaces. However, there are some of us out there who are still doing their jobs out in the open. Quite obviously, food-delivery workers belong in that category. A recent ad by KFC brought this new-world-order to the forefront. Furthermore, the fast-food chain allowed its workers to take some needed respite from the daily grind. Titled F for Family, the campaign allowed KFC delivery workers to make food deliveries to their families. By doing so, KFC ensured that human connection trumped the difficulties caused by a worldwide calamity. Needless to say, we were left teary-eyed upon seeing that happen!
