Following the strategy of the campaign created in 2013, Greenpeace has been diligently…

Following the strategy of the campaign created in 2013, Greenpeace has been diligently working to raise awareness about the critical issue of Arctic melting among the Spanish population. With their initial campaign, “Save the Arctic,” they successfully bridged the perceived distance between Spain and the Arctic.

Now, Greenpeace is taking their efforts to the next level with a fresh and compelling concept: “If we lose the Arctic, we all lose.” This new approach aims to actively involve citizens in a crucial moment where an unprecedented opportunity to protect a significant portion of the Arctic arises.

By establishing a powerful connection between a mundane everyday activity like opening the refrigerator and the alarming reality of polar ice melting, Greenpeace seeks to deliver a more direct and impactful message. The organization recognizes the urgency of the situation and acknowledges that now is the time to rally strong support for their cause.

Reaching out to people who reside millions of kilometers away from the Arctic, Greenpeace’s campaign endeavors to penetrate the homes of individuals and motivate them to rise from their couches. Their objective is to evoke a sense of responsibility and prompt immediate action.

The campaign aims to be genuinely effective, capturing the attention and engagement of a broader audience. Greenpeace understands the importance of leveraging this critical moment to garner widespread support, making it crucial for their strategy’s ultimate success.

As the campaign progresses, Greenpeace remains dedicated to spreading awareness about the detrimental consequences of Arctic melting. They believe that by saving the Arctic, humanity safeguards much more than just a remote region—it protects the delicate balance of our planet’s ecosystem and secures a sustainable future for all.

In their unwavering commitment to their cause, Greenpeace strives to inspire individuals to take an active role in protecting the Arctic, emphasizing the significance of each person’s contribution. By encouraging citizens to act now, they hope to make a profound impact and effect real change.

Greenpeace’s campaign represents a vital opportunity to make a difference and prevent further irreversible damage to the Arctic. With their passionate drive and effective outreach, they aim to unite individuals from all walks of life and create a collective force that can protect this invaluable ecosystem.

Together, let us join Greenpeace in their endeavor to safeguard the Arctic and secure a better future for generations to come.

The climate emergency is one of the main factors behind growing world hunger.…

The climate emergency is one of the main factors behind growing world hunger.
According to the FAO, the three major causes of world hunger are war, economic shocks and climate change. The countries most affected by hunger are those that are most impacted by extreme climate phenomena. These are also the least resilient countries, as their populations have limited access to production resources and social safety nets that protect against the consequences of the climate emergency. Climate change affects ecosystems, means of production, the economy and the livelihoods of everyone who depends on agriculture. Longer and more frequent droughts and an increasing number of storms, floods and extreme heatwaves are just some of the most alarming effects.

Action Against Hunger have been working in the field for 40 years and have witnessed the experiences of the populations they work with.
In recent years, events linked to the climate emergency have pushed populations in the most vulnerable countries into increasingly precarious situations. The climate emergency is threatening production and food supply for the populations they support in the regions where they work. It is one of the main factors behind growing world hunger. Extreme weather phenomena heighten exposure to hunger, malnutrition, and food insecurity, especially among vulnerable people. If nothing changes, our collective ability to feed ourselves in the future is at risk.

Today, raising awareness of the impacts of the climate emergency on hunger is an urgent task.
The impacts of climate change on the environment are already well known, but the public is much less aware of the role of climate in worsening the problem of world hunger. Despite young people’s mass mobilisation around climate, its effect on hunger is an angle that is not talked about enough.

Action Against Hunger recognizes that the impacts of climate change have been disastrous and growing in the last four years. In its role as a humanitarian and development organisation striving to eradicate hunger and malnutrition and to meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), Action Against Hunger is committed to raising awareness of the link between the climate emergency and hunger in 2021. It also promises to promote political changes that improve the humanitarian system, public development aid, international initiatives and national frameworks that tackle climate change.

Extinction Rebellion has relaunched a short animated film entitled Climate Crisis, and Why…

Extinction Rebellion has relaunched a short animated film entitled Climate Crisis, and Why We Should Panic. Written, directed and animated by Miritte Ben Yitzchak and voiced by British actress Keira Knightley, it urges us all to Act Now before it is too late.

The animated short Climate Crisis, and Why We Should Panic, is the second of a two-part explainer video series for Extinction Rebellion, focusing on the climate and ecological crisis. Voiced by Keira Knightley, it explains what’s causing climate change, why governments must enter crisis mode to tackle this issue, and what will happen if we don’t do something about it now.

It follows the first part – Extinction Emergency, and Why We Must Act Now – which focuses on the ecological crisis. Voiced by Naomie Harris and scored by Brian Eno, it summarises the planet’s biodiversity loss, runaway consumerism and the ecological crisis that now faces us, and how the consequences will affect millions of lives around the world.

Global Climate Strike #FacetheTruth
In 2019, people all over the world took to the streets to demand climate justice. However, Climate Change denial was also on the rise, represented by the most powerful leader in the world: Donald Trump. So we created scannable protest signs that connected protesters on the streets directly to the US President.

Despite the unbearable heat in August, some bars in Zagreb and Belgrade have been serving drinks without ice. Only a straw and a sign were put inside the glass saying “Wondering why there’s no ice? It would be much cooler if you did something about global warming.” done by WWF

This was a message from WWF, one of the largest independent global preservation of nature organizations. They also served the guests with a few simple tips&tricks about how each one of us can decrease climate change every day.

The guests could get their ice only if they shared a photo of their drink and spread the message via social media.

“Climate changes are a huge issue and if we don’t do something about it, it will become an even greater problem tomorrow. This is our way of increasing awareness about how each one of us can help. Don’t just sit there and watch the ice melt!”, say in WWF Adria.

If there’s one thing Donald Trump is always in the middle of, it…

If there’s one thing Donald Trump is always in the middle of, it is controversy. On June 1, 2017, the President-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, withdrew from the Paris Climate Change agreement. His decision didn’t sit well with the general population of the US as well as diplomats all over the globe. In his very own words, Trump said, “I’m not a believer in man-made climate change.” However, it is fair to say that almost 97% of climate scientists on Earth tend to disagree with him. A campaign named Project Trumpmore (website) is a stellar example of what people think about Trump’s beliefs on global warming.

As detailed in the promo produced by SEK, Helsinki, the team linked with Project Trumpmore aims to sculpt Trump’s face on an arctic glacier. If Trump’s face melts in a thousand years or so, that would serve as enough proof for the existence of global warming.

Let’s build the biggest ice monument ever to test if climate change is real. #ProjectTrumpmore

We feel that the satirical promo associated with the campaign matches Trump’s narrative in a subtle yet stirring manner. The campaign itself is the kind of response warranted after Trump’s withdrawal from the Paris Climate Change accord.
