ACKO’s ‘Tailor Test’ Campaign takes a clever and unexpected twist this World Heart Day. By partnering with everyday tailors, ACKO draws attention to a powerful, yet often overlooked, indicator of heart health — the waist-to-hip ratio (WHR). Through lighthearted conversations and surprising revelations, the campaign encourages people to treat health as seriously as their measurements. If your WHR is above 0.85 (for women) or 0.90 (for men), it’s more than a tailoring issue — it’s time to book that health check-up.
With this campaign, ACKO turns a tape measure into a wake-up call — reminding us all that early awareness saves lives.

In a world where video games often dominate the attention of young people,…

In a world where video games often dominate the attention of young people, Shield Against Cancer – a new initiative is merging the virtual and real worlds to combat a very real threat: skin cancer. Enter the realm of Fortnite, where a familiar item, the Mini Shield, is taking on a whole new role as a symbol of protection against this deadly disease.

Skin cancer rates have been on the rise among young people, with increased exposure to harmful UV rays being a major contributor. Recognizing the need to raise awareness and promote prevention measures, a creative collaboration between gamers and health advocates has emerged.

The concept is simple yet powerful: by integrating skin cancer prevention messaging into the gaming experience, young players can learn about the importance of sun protection in a way that resonates with their interests. The Mini Shield, a staple in Fortnite gameplay for its protective properties, has been reimagined to serve a dual purpose.

Now, when gamers encounter the Mini Shield in the virtual world, they not only gain a 20% boost in protection for their in-game avatar but also receive a valuable reminder of the importance of protecting their skin in the real world. The correlation between the increased protection in-game and the rising incidence of skin cancer among young people serves as a sobering yet motivating statistic.

But the initiative doesn’t stop there. Embedded within the item’s description is a promotional code offering a 20% discount on sunscreen, further incentivizing players to take proactive steps to safeguard their skin. This simple yet impactful gesture not only encourages responsible gaming habits but also promotes healthy lifestyle choices beyond the screen.

By harnessing the immense reach and influence of gaming culture, this innovative campaign Shield Against Cancer seeks to make a tangible difference in the lives of young people. Through strategic partnerships and creative interventions, it aims to turn virtual experiences into real-world actions that can save lives.

The beauty of this initiative lies in its ability to seamlessly integrate health messaging into the gaming landscape, leveraging the power of storytelling and interactive gameplay to educate and empower players. It represents a new frontier in health promotion, where digital platforms serve as catalysts for positive behavior change.

As young gamers continue to immerse themselves in virtual worlds, initiatives like this remind us of the potential for gaming to not only entertain but also educate and inspire. With each shield collected and each sunscreen purchased, players are not just gaming—they’re actively participating in the fight against skin cancer.

In the battle against a formidable foe like skin cancer, every ally counts. Through innovative approaches like the Fortnite Shields Up initiative, we can harness the collective power of gamers to create a brighter, healthier future for generations to come. So, next time you pick up that Mini Shield in Fortnite, remember: you’re not just protecting your avatar, you’re protecting yourself against a very real threat.

Test-Icles: Early Testicular Cancer Detection Dudes, listen up. Pregnancy tests aren’t just for…

Test-Icles: Early Testicular Cancer Detection

Dudes, listen up. Pregnancy tests aren’t just for women anymore. This might sound crazy, but a regular pregnancy test could be a game-changer for your health.

Introducing “Test-Icles,” a groundbreaking campaign by Ogilvy Mexico and Ogilvy Health New York, teaming up with the Alba Foundation. It’s the first initiative to use pregnancy tests for early detection of testicular cancer – with a self-exam at home, no less.

Here’s the science behind it. Pregnancy tests detect a hormone called hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin beta subunit). While this hormone is linked to pregnancy, it can also be a sign of certain testicular cancers.

“This common test has the potential to be a lifesaver for many men,” says Dr. Miguel Angel Alvarez Avitia, an oncologist specializing in cancers of the urinary and reproductive systems. Early detection is key for testicular cancer, which strikes thousands of men every year. Here’s the shocker: young men between 15 and 35 are at the highest risk.

Why the hesitation to get checked, though? Embarrassment, fear, or simply not feeling the need are all common reasons guys avoid doctor visits. That’s where “Test-Icles” gets innovative.

“We wanted to find a way to motivate men to overcome these barriers,” explains Rafael Reina, Chief Creative Officer at Ogilvy Mexico & Miami. Their approach is lighthearted, using humor to deliver a serious message. Think mascots with some serious personality – that’s the idea behind Tano and Nato.

But “Test-Icles” is more than just a funny name. It highlights the clever use of a familiar product for a whole new purpose – early cancer detection at home. This not only has the potential to save lives but also makes healthcare more accessible by encouraging preventive measures.

Hold on a sec, fellas. A positive test doesn’t automatically equal cancer. It’s a warning sign that something might be wrong, prompting a visit to a urologist for further checks. “Don’t let your guard down even with a negative result,” advises Dr. Alvarez. Certain hormone treatments can also affect test results, so a doctor’s visit is always recommended.

Miryana Pérez Vela, leading the Alba Foundation, stresses the power of collaboration. “Working together allows us to reach a wider audience and spread awareness about early detection of testicular cancer,” she says. This cancer has a very high cure rate when caught early, making campaigns like “Test-Icles” all the more important.

The campaign took social media, digital platforms, and even billboards by storm. Content creators got involved too, encouraging their followers to take the test.

Guys, it’s time to ditch the awkwardness and take control of your health. “Test-Icles” might sound a little unusual, but the message is clear: early detection can be a lifesaver.

For World Obesity Day on March 4th, the French Obese National Associations Collective…

For World Obesity Day on March 4th, the French Obese National Associations Collective (CNAO) worked with Ad agency BETC Paris to create a pro bono campaign meant to raise awareness around a severe health issue: obesity and fatphobia. Fatphobia is getting stronger and affects people with health issues which leads furthermore to their exclusion.

Fatphobia: How severe is it?
In France, almost half of the adult population is considered overweight or obese. 47.3% of French adult people are overweight or obese and 17% are considered obese. Despite how widespread the affliction is, people suffering from obesity face hostility and discrimination. Whether it happens in public, at school, in the workplace, in the medical world, in the media, within their families, or even on social media. Fatphobia becomes another issue that people suffering from obesity have to deal with.

These figures demonstrate that discrimination towards larger bodies is constant and commonplace. 23% of people suffering from obesity and 41% of people suffering from severe obesity are victims of discrimination.

Fatphobia: The weight of the words
Mercedes Erra, President & Founder of BETC Group, says: “Fighting fatphobia is as much an ethical challenge than a public health one. At the same time, that society is becoming more inclusive, fatphobia lingers. It is becoming a violent phenomenon that doesn’t seem to decrease. Our agency is proud to support this cause that follows our strong commitment towards fighting against all discriminations.”

The effects of fatphobia are multiple: loss of self-esteem, increased risk of depression, social isolation, youth deschooling, increased risk of eating disorders, avoidance of medical treatments, late treatment for severe diseases. Fatphobia – especially within the medical world – can be an obstacle when treating people suffering from obesity, which is detrimental as obesity is a chronic disease that can be treated.

BETC Paris has conceived for the French Obese National Associations Collective an Ad campaign that aims to raise awareness around this type of widespread and commonplace discrimination. The creative idea calls out what is the most painful for people suffering from obesity: the weight of words, the stares from others, that can cause invisible yet durable wounds, as damaging as the disease itself. With the line “The heaviest thing I carry is the weight of your words”, the campaign challenges our collective responsibility in the rejection and isolation of people suffering from obesity and calls for a change of behaviour.

Words getting more powerful through clever use of graphic design
The campaign comes to life with the help of three incredible models, shot by Pascal Boudet. The three visuals show bodies, faces, and words of those that society often leaves out of the frame. The ad campaign reinstates the right to everybody to have a place in the public space and calls out for more general kindness.

Anne-Sophie Joly, President of the Obese National Associations Collective, adds: “This campaign is instrumental to help change the mind of the people over this disease that gets stigmatised and is not fully recognised as such in France and which represents a major health issue globally.”

Social Bullets – The Terrifying Link Between Cyberbullying and Teen Suicides In the…

Social Bullets – The Terrifying Link Between Cyberbullying and Teen Suicides

In the digital age, social media has become an integral part of the lives of young Americans, offering a platform for self-expression, communication, and community building. However, the online world also harbors a dark side, where cyberbullying thrives, posing serious threats to the mental and emotional well-being of teenagers. Recent research has revealed a chilling correlation between cyberbullying and teen suicide attempts, with every 233 bullying posts online potentially leading to one teenager attempting suicide. To address this alarming issue and raise awareness among parents, Stand for the Silent, a prominent anti-bullying non-profit, teamed up with the Kazoo App to develop “Social Bullets,” an eye-opening experiment aimed at shedding light on the dangers of cyberbullying.

The Birth of Social Bullets
To create Social Bullets, a cutting-edge AI was trained on a vast database of over 2 million human-moderated social media posts and content. Through machine learning, the algorithm effectively identified and captured bullying posts from four major social media platforms frequently used by American students. The experiment collected an astonishing 70,000 toxic comments per day, offering a disturbing glimpse into the sheer magnitude of cyberbullying.

Stand for the Silent’s Virtual Educational Sessions
With this powerful tool in hand, Stand for the Silent set out to educate parents on the tragic reality of cyberbullying. The organization conducted virtual educational sessions that simulated 24 hours in the life of a typical American student on social media. During these sessions, parents were exposed to the chilling prevalence and severity of cyberbullying, revealing the devastating effects it can have on their children’s mental health and well-being.

Kazoo App: A Guardian for Online Safety
The virtual learning sessions not only served to create awareness but also generated qualified leads for the upcoming launch of Stand for the Silent’s main partner, the Kazoo App. Designed to build a safer social media environment, Kazoo is a personal safety app developed to empower families in protecting their loved ones from cyberbullying and other online dangers. By offering features such as real-time monitoring, content filtering, and reporting mechanisms, Kazoo aims to ensure a secure online experience for young users.

Partnership for a Safer Future
Stand for the Silent and Kazoo joined forces to address the problem of cyberbullying and its dire consequences for teenagers. Through special presentations in virtual learning sessions at local Parent Teacher Association (PTA) meetings, they were able to reach out to parents across the nation. These educational sessions were hosted via Zoom and featured Kirk Smalley, the president of Stand for the Silent, who passionately advocated for the cause. Additionally, cyberbullying survivors shared their harrowing experiences, providing valuable insights and guidance for parents to navigate the complexities of the online world with their children.

Conclusion
In a world where social media plays a central role in the lives of teenagers, it is essential for parents to be aware of the dangers of cyberbullying and its potential impact on their children’s well-being. Social Bullets, the brainchild of Stand for the Silent and the Kazoo App, serves as a wake-up call to parents, revealing the staggering prevalence of cyberbullying and its devastating consequences. By building awareness and equipping parents with tools like Kazoo, we can collectively work towards creating a safer online environment for the younger generation, where they can freely express themselves without fear of harm. Together, we can stand against cyberbullying and protect the mental health and happiness of our teens.

80% of women are unhappy with what they see in the mirror and try to hide parts of their skin such as freckles, wrinkles and stretch marks. At Dove, they made a tribute to the skin through the iconic soap bar that we always see as smooth and perfect, this time revealing those factory details such as cracks and slits that, just like the marks on the skin, make part of real beauty. #RealSoaps

Motor neurone disease (MND) is a terminal illness. But before it takes your life, it takes your voice.
Voice banking can help those with MND create a digital copy of their voice, so they can continue sounding like themselves even after losing the ability to speak.
Unfortunately, only 12% of those with MND have used this technology because they find the process complicated and impersonal.

“We worked with best-selling author Jill Twiss and Illustrator Nicolas Stevenson to create a story that people with MND can read to their loved ones to share what they are going through.
As they read, the system seamlessly banks their voice. The story contains all the syllables needed to create an accurate copy of their voice.”

The work was created in partnership with the Motor Neurone Disease Association and Rolls-Royce. People can read the book to bank their voice on iwillalwaysbeme.com.

More than 72% of recently diagnosed with MND are now using I Will Always Be Me to bank their voice.

The Mother of All Reviews pays tribute to working moms in advance of…

The Mother of All Reviews pays tribute to working moms in advance of Mother’s Day and acknowledges the extra load they’ve shouldered throughout the pandemic.

The video was produced in support of nonprofit Path Forward to help empower moms to restart their careers.

In The Mother of All Reviews, six unsuspecting working moms show up to their scheduled performance reviews, only to be brought to tears when they realize the reviews are from their families–not their colleagues. Their children and partners pre-recorded their feedback–messages of love and appreciation ranging from: “She was truly our Pandemic Czar” and “the matriarch of our entire team” to “She never gives up on achieving her goals.” The moms were captured on a hidden camera reacting with astonishment and tears of joy.

To help celebrate the amazing contributions of working moms and all moms, the feel-good three-minute production ends by encouraging viewers to pay tribute to the moms in their lives. It also directs mothers, who may have put their careers on hold to care for their families during the pandemic and are looking to restart their careers, to visit PathForward.org.

GSK created Theraflu Tracker, the most accurate predictive model to calculate the risk…

GSK created Theraflu Tracker, the most accurate predictive model to calculate the risk of flu anywhere in Mexico.

Challenge
GSK’s products and solutions help people across Mexico fight the cold and flu season. But the most complex issue is being able to predict the right time to communicate with customers, highlight the problems, and mitigate the risks associated with the spread of the disease. This silent, invisible condition can slow down the economy and put lives at risk.

Inspiration
Cold and flu season has become a significant public health problem in Mexico. In 2018 alone, more than 23.8 million acute respiratory infections and 500 deaths were due to influenza.

Given that artificial intelligence and predictive data modelling has enabled business and industries all over the world to accurately predict future states and influence positive behavioural change in real-time, could the creative application of data inspire the most impactful use of messaging as a solution to ultimately save lives?

Idea
GSK created Theraflu Tracker, the most accurate predictive model to calculate the risk of flu anywhere in Mexico.

Leveraging eight years of infection data from the National Institute of Epidemiology, they layered in weather data from more than 80 cities, considering over 50 variables such as temperature, weather, humidity, etc. and analysing word trends in Google searches geolocating social media activity related to flu symptoms. This enabled us to accurately and efficiently deploy GSK’s Theraflu product messaging and customer experiences across Mexico precisely the right moment ahead of the approaching disease.

The first breastfeeding bench was placed in Kortrijk during World Breastfeeding Week. It was launched together with the #BreastPlaces map to empower women to feel safe and comfortable breastfeeding or pumping in public and encourage the Belgian people to support this. One bench to prove a point, that women can breastfeed their kid anywhere they want.
The campaign got the attention it truly deserved, and they’re undertaking future endeavours so that the most natural thing in the world will be looked at as the most natural thing in the world. The city of Brussels already followed their lead and rolled out the #BreastPlaces map and intends to place a few breastfeeding benches across town in 2022.

“It’s always been our belief that every mother, parent, and family should be able to choose how and where to feed their baby— without judgment or restriction. Likewise, parents should always have the freedom to be out and about without worries. By installing this purpose-built breastfeeding bench and launching the Breast Places website, we hope to truly support mothers of young children to breastfeed or pump in public— while fulfilling our core belief in the process.”

Superdrug launched a new Itty Titty campaign to encourage 18-35-year-olds to check their breasts.

With nearly two thirds (64%) of women aged 18-35 years old not checking their chests regularly every month and with 1 in 7 women affected by breast cancer in their lifetime, Superdrug is launching a new unique ‘Itty Titty’ campaign to encourage people to take control of their health. It intends to increase the level of awareness and conversation about breast checking and encourage people to regularly check themselves.

The campaign sees people receive a free Itty Titty sticky leaflet when they order their contraceptive pills from Superdrug Online Doctor or pick up their contraceptive pills from four of Superdrug’s pharmacy stores – London The Strand, Battersea, Islington, and Manchester-Piccadilly. The leaflet includes 12 pairs of Itty Titty stickers and encourages people to place a pair on each of their pill blister packs as a visual reminder to check their breasts for abnormalities which will help them stay aware of any changes to their chest.

One in 20 children is conceived by IVF. Despite this, IVF is still stigmatized, leaving people with fertility issues feeling they can’t talk about it. So CHE Proximity Sydney made IVF as natural as sex. The campaign launched with a fun yet deliberately provocative film to drive the conversation. The strategy wasn’t to sanitize it for broadcast standards but to release it directly to IVF patients past and present, empowering them to share it socially. Many of them broke their IVF silence for the first time.

A worrying effect of this pandemic is the delay in exams for diagnosis of breast cancer:

6 out of 10 women canceled their doctor’s appointments.

A 30% increase in breast cancer cases is expected over the next decade.

More than 60k new cases this year.

The self-exam does not replace a medical assessment and exams like a mammogram but represents an appropriate step for early diagnosis. The sooner it is discovered and treated, the chances of cure are 95%.

Women are addicted to Instagram beauty filters; that’s a fact. But what if, instead of being used to distort the notion of beauty, filters could be used for something more important: women’s health? (Even more so, this pandemic year).
To contribute to the journey of prevention, J&J, with its Self-Exam Filter, went in the opposite direction of Instagram’s platform, providing an essential service to all women.

J&J had to be modern and popular, so it was decided to use one tool that is always on women’s hands: filters.
But unlike the other filters, the Self-exam Filter is an Instagram filter that teaches women how to do a breast self-exam by learning step-by-step on their bodies. That is, a filter not to be posted but to be used for women’s self-care.
With this technology, the mobile display becomes a mirror where a projected animation guides the right movements on the right spots of the breast.
