More than 5.5 million Apple users from 234 countries have downloaded iTest, an app that appears to transform your iPhone into a Samsung. The web application mimics the operating system of an Android device, allowing consumers to experience navigation, app interaction, settings, texting/calling, and even the camera features.

DDB Group’s Tribal Aotearoa New Zealand was briefed to motivate consumers to consider switching from their iPhones to Samsung devices – a simple proposition, but a near impossible task in practice. Anyone who knows an Apple user is familiar with the fanatic levels of loyalty the brand achieves among its users – conceptions that are not easy to change.

The Underdogs are back, navigating their new normal with lots of unknowns but one reliable constant: Apple helps unleash their creativity and productivity even when they’re working from home.

It’s still a world of deadlines, meetings, group chats, conference calls, coworkers, and bosses. But it’s also a world of kids, a dog, and a hairless cat. Idea: Apple Straighten Up
Using face recognition technology, iPhones detect the angle at which the neck is bent. If the angle exceeds five degrees, the phone would blur the image/text on the screen, leaving the user with no option but to straighten up. Thus, inculcating a habit to always keep the neck upright, even while using the phone.

Apple’s new Shot on iPhone campaign travels to India, the second most populous country in the world, in a multidimensional portrait of the country’s collective passion for Cricket. Directed by Gary Land and produced by GLP Creative for TBWA|Media Arts Lab, Our Game takes the viewer on a journey from skinny alleyways to beachside pitches – all captured with striking beauty on the iPhone.

Director/DP Gary Land began as a photography legend in the snowboarding industry, and sports and athletes have been enduring subjects for the director/photographer. Behind each image and film is a physical and emotional story. “Our Game,” is no exception – but this time the sport was unfamiliar and the technology hand-held. In other words: a welcome adventure of discovery.

Extensive planning and four filming teams were essential to capturing varied expressions and textures of Cricket with a range of players, game styles, and locations. Practiced in the usage of large-scale camera packages, the teams delighted in the fact that the iPhone proved to be the perfect tool – allowing for a relaxed intimacy with the subjects and a sense of immersiveness in the action.

“It was an honor and inspiration to work on this campaign,” comments Land. “It opened my eyes on so many levels, from the terrific experience of working professionally with the iPhone to the eye-opening wonder of India, and a true enthusiasm for Cricket. It’s the kind of project that changes you forever.”

In addition to “Our Game, “ Land has directed and photographed numerous large-scale ad campaigns from Nike to AT&T to Coca-Cola and collaborated with the likes of Stance Socks, Undefeated, and Bodega, who’ve all designed products that feature Gary’s images. Among his past projects are books of photography, including “AI” (Allen Iverson) the result of a decade long collaboration with the legendary NBA Hall of Famer. Another, “Born To Play Baseball,” documenting the Dominican Republic’s intense love and domination of the sport, first brought Land to the attention of the Media Arts Lab creative team with whom he collaborated on “Our Game.”

In a colourfully recorded video commercial produced by Morton Jankel Zander, Apple captured the spirit of its latest device and elevated it further with Cosmo Sheldrake’s vocals. The premium smartphone manufacturer also announced a discounted price of $449 for buyers willing to trade in their current smartphones. However, certain restrictions do apply to the limited-period offer.

We feel that this campaign made judicious use of parkour-fueled colourful visuals to put its point across. Apple has added yet another winner to its long roster of top-notch commercials.

We think that the film proves effective in the sense that it communicates the feature of Group FaceTime (that over 30 people can join in for like-minded video chat conversation) well without being boring. And the whole thing set amid The King’s popular ballad – There’s Always Me gives it a nostalgic touch to those who can connect with him.

The airline will begin distribution to its more than 23,000 mainline flight attendants during the second quarter of 2015. Upon introduction, the devices will have the ability to handle most onboard retail transactions and will enable access to company email, united.com and the company’s Intranet as well as policies and procedures manuals.

Future enhancements include replacing the flight attendants’ printed safety manual with an electronic version on their iPhones and providing real-time reporting and improved follow-up on aircraft cabin issues and repairs. Additionally, United plans to develop a number of customer-focused tools for the device.

“We are thrilled to make this investment in our flight attendants,” said Sam Risoli, United’s senior vice president of inflight services. “iPhone 6 Plus will enable them to deliver an even higher level of flyer-friendly service and will offer our flight attendants simple, one-touch access to valuable work information, enabling them to better serve our customers.”
