In Bariloche, Argentina, the brewing industry was hit hard by Covid-19, so Patagonia Cerveza teamed up with competitive breweries to create Comunal Gin

A beer-based gin made from the same barrels of beer that would have gone to waste. Comunal’s launch reached 19.6 million impressions, leading to $1.65 million in sales in August alone; that’s 45% more than the #1 beer! But more importantly, it saved the brewing community in Bariloche from having to throw away thousands of liters of beer, not to mention profit and making Comunal a testament to the power of creative problem solving and collaboration.

Live Cinema in Lockdown by FilminLatino, the first-ever made live film exhibited on…

Live Cinema in Lockdown by FilminLatino, the first-ever made live film exhibited on Instagram. An idea developed for the Mexican Film Academy that innovated watching cinema amid an industry halted by the pandemic.

COVID-19 forces many industries to go into a pause and others to come to a complete stop. The movie industry came to a complete halt. Government institutions stopped issuing filming permits. The movie sets had technical and capacity limitations. The entire chain collapsed: Without open theatres, premieres, editions, actors, writers and screenwriters were paralyzed.

As a response to this unprecedented situation, in conjunction with the Mexican Institute of Cinematography, “Encierro, cine en vivo” was created, movies that were confinement forces by the current pandemic, they live physically and mentally locked up, and they must come out of the heads of the characters they live in; problems that to be released have to be counted. And filmed.

Five characters. Five monologues. Five stories. Five emotions. Five problems that concern us all must be released to turn them into emotions, in freedom.

Google shining a light on a crisis within a crisis. Helping people overcome…

Google shining a light on a crisis within a crisis. Helping people overcome the stigma of mental health during the pandemic through Be kind to your mind campaign.

During the lockdown, Google Search data showed that people were searching for ways to help others, but few asked for help on their mental health. ‘I need help’ are the three hardest words to say out loud, and the stigma existed even on Google Search.

Google wanted to break the cycle and started looking for solutions to make mental health help accessible across regions. By working together with psychologists, a toolkit of self-care skills was put together on google.com/covid-19. When a Covid-19 related query was typed, there was extra support in the results.

Google then created a brand video using real footage of people and influencers to remind people to take care of themselves like others. The creative was localized across Asian regions to inspire millions on how to search for self-care in every language and region.

Search trends showed people searching for self-care, and the campaign got to hope and support 186M people as #BeKindToYourMind started trending, one courageous query at a time. Localization drove a 2-5% uplift in brand metrics.

Undoubtedly the months of pandemic lockdown have been harsh on all of us.…

Undoubtedly the months of pandemic lockdown have been harsh on all of us. But it has been especially brutal for working moms. They have had to juggle endless workplace demands alongside managing an unequal load of housework, childcare, and remote schooling. As a result, four times more women than men dropped out of the workforce. To highlight this concern, Women Empowered Global launched this film The Mom Penalty on International Women’s Day to address the elephant in the room.

About Women Empowered Global
A unique platform that empowers women through business education, networking forums, career advancement & entrepreneurial programs. With our network reach, we have a presence in over 23 countries, access six continents, and a membership of over 4,000+ members who are women in business, business leaders, global influencers, millennials, startup founders, women in leadership & management from corporate, industrial & STEM sectors.
On March 13th, the Bulgarian government declared the State of Emergency. For the…

On March 13th, the Bulgarian government declared the State of Emergency. For the first time in Bulgarian history, the country had been blocked by disease. The virus-response cabinet took unprecedented measures. They were closing all in-person businesses, leaving access just to food, medicine, banks, and petrol stations and travelling abroad.

The service sector was blocked and indicated thousands of unemployed people registered on a daily bases.
However the tourism sector was the most affected (reporting 48 million BGN loss) with borders of different countries closed all around Europe, no alternative financial income and no certainty on when the situation is going to get better.

The brief:
With cancelled trips and no option for rescheduling of trips, Tour Skills wanted a campaign or activation that could give them a breath of fresh air and help them survive the hardships.

The insight:
During the lockdown period, the Wanderlust (a strong desire to wander or travel and explore the world) becomes even more significant. Locked in their apartments, people were hungry for experiences. They started “travelling” imaginary thanks to their memories from old travels from here and there and shared those nostalgic memories in their Social media channels.

Idea
Instagram Stories filters have their names — a few of the most recognizable cities in the world.
Crisis has today launched the latest instalment of #HomeForAll, the urgent campaign created…

Crisis has today launched the latest instalment of #HomeForAll, the urgent campaign created by the charity and newly appointed creative agency FCB Inferno, to drive the end of homelessness in Britain.

Back in March, in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the effort to provide all those sleeping rough or in crowded night shelters with hotel and emergency accommodation undoubtedly saved lives. During this time, the UK made unprecedented progress toward ending homelessness. In England alone, nearly 15,000 people experiencing homelessness, including the majority of people sleeping rough, were provided with safe accommodation in a matter of days. However, as we continue to near the end of lockdown, the charity is galvanising the British public to join the cause, building off the achievements and momentum of the past few months to unite the public under the belief that the end of homelessness is within our reach.

Crisis’s #HomeForAll campaign, developed by newly appointed FCB Inferno, is a commitment to see that the temporary measures that were put in place to help people experiencing homelessness are built upon and made permanent so that no one has to return to the streets. The campaign itself is a rallying cry for the public to join arms in creating a Home For All from now on.

The integrated campaign has a distinctive look and feel which was developed to reflect all the ways we as a society could help to end homelessness, with graphics that bring to life the tangible actions and ways of communicating that will ultimately lead to us achieving our goal. A social film also brings to light just how much has been achieved and puts a spotlight on the tangible ways that the public can help end homelessness for good.

Six artists have been enlisted to bring to life a series of statements and the unifying ‘Home for All’ declaration that help reframe the issue of homelessness. A group of artists with differing styles have been assembled, infusing each design with its distinct personality. The artists include James Daw, Olivia Rose Southern, Ailsa Yexley, Hattie Fellowes, Luke Smile and Ashley LeQuere.

The resulting suite of statements has a huge tonal variance, shifting from optimism to frustration to compassion. Social media users will be asked to share the messages that happen to resonate with them on their social channels to help show their support.

Social and digital media, planned and bought by Initiative, will be used heavily and Crisis will be enlisting their Ambassadors to help amplify the campaign asks. This sits aside a series of DRTV spots driving action, out of home displayed at Piccadilly lights, and murals and illustrations in Crisis shops across the UK.

Richard Lee, Director of Fundraising at Crisis, says: “We know that the British public cares deeply about homelessness, but that it can feel like too overwhelming a problem to solve. But during the coronavirus pandemic, individuals, communities, charities and national and local government have together to achieve incredible things, housing thousands of people who are homeless in a matter of days. There is no longer any reason to believe that ending homelessness is an impossible task.
“Our campaign aims to deliver a new sense of possibility by inspiring people that ending homelessness is now within our reach. It harnesses the progress that has been made during the lockdown, shows people that this is a pivotal moment in time.

Sharon Jiggins, CMO at FCB Inferno, says; “As we emerge from lockdown, the economic reality means that there are many more people facing the prospect of homelessness after losing their jobs during the pandemic. Urgent action is needed now to support those facing homelessness for the first time, and those who risk having their temporary accommodation taken away from them. #HomeForAll seeks to encourage people to donate, volunteer, a campaign to help this be the beginning of the end to homelessness in Britain.”

About Crisis
Crisis is the national charity for homeless people. We help people directly out of homelessness, and campaign for the social changes needed to solve it altogether. We know that together we can end homelessness.

Teens and tweens with cystic fibrosis (CF) are trying to teach other teens…

Teens and tweens with cystic fibrosis (CF) are trying to teach other teens a thing or two about social distancing as part of The Social Distance Squad, a program developed by AREA 23, an FCB Health Network company, in partnership with five leading cystic fibrosis (CF) nonprofits. The program positions kids with CF as social distancing experts who can help other teens cope with social distancing measures brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. Individuals with CF are required to social distance due to their genetic condition. AREA 23 recognized that a team of young CF teens and tweens could help other teens by banding together to share their lockdown tips, wisdom and support.

The outbreak of COVID-19 and the need to implement social distancing measures have hit teens especially hard. They have been cut off from their social circles during their formative years, missed out on key events and have been left searching for guidance on how to be social while social distancing. Identifying this need, AREA 23 brought together Claire’s Place Foundation (Los Angeles, CA), Piper’s Angels (Jupiter, FL), the Bonnell Foundation (Detroit, MI), Attain Health (Red Lodge, MT) and the Boomer Esiason Foundation (New York, NY).

AREA 23 developed a creative, multichannel platform that elevates young people with CF to the role of thought leaders and influencers, providing expert advice to teens as members of The Social Distance Squad. This platform facilitates the sharing of encouraging and inspiring stories, and quick tips ranging from how to stay connected and happy during lockdowns, to how to talk with friends about agreeing to social distancing ground rules to safely visit or get together. They have connected with teens through social media videos, virtually visiting learning institutions, and by providing a direct pathway for young people to share what they are struggling with related to their COVID-19 world and ask for personalized advice from The Social Distance Squad.

“The reaction has been immediate. We’ve seen kids in virtual classes express a different outlook after meeting with the Squad, seeing opportunities instead of frustrations,” said Logan Allanson, AREA 23 Creative Director and Cannes Lions 2019 Grand Prix winner. “And it’s not just kids being uplifted, but teachers and parents too. We could all learn a lot from the Squad.”

The Social Distance Squad first connected with teens in early Spring and has been expanding ever since. Originally, the CF experts partnered with teachers to make appearances in virtual school classrooms across the country, where they led interactive Q&A sessions and shared the tips they’ve honed from their lifetime’s worth of experience with social distancing to staying healthy. As the campaign evolved, members of the Social Distance Squad created and shared video lessons about staying healthy and happy on Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat and TikTok. With the most recent expansion, teens can now sign up for mediated one-on-one and group sessions with Squad members to request expert advice on the areas that have been their greatest concern. As the program continues to expand and evolve, more teens can join the Squad to share their tips and experiences.

“With each iteration, we’re continuing to find new ways for young people and the general public to learn from the Social Distance Squad,” said AREA 23 Creative Directors Andy Gerchak and Pamela Savage. Their cystic fibrosis may put them at higher risk of lung infections, but it’s also made them uniquely qualified to help everyone stay safe and happy.”

“To be able to spread my knowledge and lifelong experiences of social distancing with teens and young adults have been tremendously impactful for both the participants and me,” said Leah Schwanke, a senior member and mentor of The Social Distance Squad. “I hope my lockdown lesson shows teens that you can live a purposeful and happy life while maintaining social distance precautions. Young people need to know that the CF community has been doing this for years. If we can do it and stay happy and healthy, they can do it too.”

In addition to helping young people cope with the newfound challenges of social distancing, the initiative serves to raise awareness and increase understanding among the general public of the strength, innovation and positivity of the CF community.

A Social Distance is a crowd-sourced film featuring residents of the countries most impacted by COVID-19, documenting their life during the lockdown.

Spanning more than 30 countries, the film includes a breadth of perspectives, from a 93-year old Malayan grandmother to a 19-year old Slovenian man, and includes an original score that was remotely performed by musicians from around the world.

Oakland-based interactive artist, film director, and Young Guns 10 winner Ivan Cash combats the isolation of quarantine in his latest film project, entitled “A Social Distance”. Social experimentation and human connection have long been trademarks of Ivan’s oeuvre, and this time around, he’s uniting 30 disparate souls from around the world, showing that even in isolation, humanity can be as one. We chatted with Ivan about how his latest project came together.

Grey Argentina: Itaú Pension Delivery Developing new ways for Argentina’s most vulnerable to…

Grey Argentina: Itaú Pension Delivery
Developing new ways for Argentina’s most vulnerable to access banking services during the pandemic

Grey Argentina and its client, Itaú, the largest private bank in Latin America, joined forces to create a revolutionary pension delivery system for its elderly clients, the most at risk during the Covid-19 crisis.

Historically, Argentina has been a “cash culture” because people couldn’t rely on or trust electronic banking. When the pandemic hit, millions of retirees lined up to receive their monthly pensions, exposing themselves to the virus despite the lockdown. Their choice was stark: risk their lives to go out to the bank or stay home with no money.

The bank and agency took on entrenched cultural habits and the governmental, financial and legal establishment, believed to be impervious to change. Time was of the essence with lives at stake.

“I feel we broke through the ‘this cannot be done’ mentality. We transformed banking into a more friendly service in record time,” said Carolina Belzunce, Marketing Manager of Itaú. “This innovation normally would have taken years to accept. When we hit obstacles, Grey convinced us that it was worth continuing.”

In less than a month, Itaú and Grey developed a unique home delivery system of microflow transportation and identification verification. Older clients make a phone request and receive their pension in cash at the door. The invention is upending long-held traditions of the Argentine financial system and ushering in new ways of banking across Latin America. Fifty thousand seniors in Buenos Aires kicked it off.

To you, they were always more than just barbers. For Gillette, they’ve always been just like family. And come what may, family always takes care of its own. Visit and show your support for our dear barbers.

So today, when their business has unfortunately come to a standstill, threatening their livelihoods, it is our responsibility to help them back on their feet.

The day the world stopped was the day we found where to go. Lost together, we discovered ourselves again. We’ve realized that the things that matter deserve time…From now, we are not going to leave anything on our plates because we’ve learned to savor the moments that were always there.

‘The great meal’, the latest Coca-Cola anthem film that launches its new food communication platform, ‘Together tastes better’.

Fight against Domestic violence. This is a small step in raising awareness for…

Fight against Domestic violence. This is a small step in raising awareness for all those souls currently suffering in silence.

The data from the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) has suggested that the nation wide lockdown has led to a rapid increase in the cases of domestic violence. While there is an increase in cases in India, the lockdown has brought the world to stay inside closed doors.

When there is violence, there is anger, when there is violence, there is frustration and when there is violence, people who are subjected to it keep quiet due to intimidation, fear or just because you don’t want to speak up against your partner.

We want to tell you, that there maybe a lockdown, but there is no lock on violence, the door maybe closed, but speak up and unlock your voice as the world will stand with you and win against this violence together.
