Everyone’s different, so Nobody is Normal. But it can be tough if that makes you feel left out or alone. Childline is here for you, no matter who you are.

Childline is reassuring young people that no matter how you feel inside, there is always someone you can talk to and that you are not alone through a new ‘Nobody is Normal’ campaign created by MSQ’s The Gate.

Childline (part of the NSPCC) has revealed that every year they hear from thousands of young people who feel like they don’t fit in or feel ‘normal’.
Over the past few months, counselors have heard from children struggling with their body image, sexuality, gender identity, and mental health. The charity has analyzed the data to find these issues spiked during the Covid-19 lockdown.

‘Nobody is Normal’ highlights these issues by letting young people know that it’s OK to feel this way, a shared experience, and reassuring them that nobody should suffer alone.

Making Voices Visible – As part of their social creative rollout across the…

Making Voices Visible – As part of their social creative rollout across the US, Europe, and Latin America, Amazon Music wanted to share LGBTQ+ artist stories with music lovers during Pride Month. But there are those within the community who cannot hear these stories: the hearing impaired, who experience music through vibrations but, as far as lyrics and storytelling, are missing out on the whole experience.

So how does Amazon Music connect with this often ignored population, many of who are queer and who enjoy music just as much as their hearing-centric counterparts? Through Brandon Kazen-Maddox, an innovative sign language storyteller.

Brandon is a growing number of sign language interpreters specializing in the performing arts, specifically around music and dance. Part of the LGBTQ+ gender non-conforming community, Brandon’s passion is to bring artistic works of sign language to all music lovers.

Food insecurity is a largely ignored but severe concern in even the most…

Food insecurity is a largely ignored but severe concern in even the most developed countries of the world. One out of every five people in London suffers from food poverty. Food poverty is an issue that can be completely eradicated from the world without even investing a huge amount of money. The solution to this problem already exists in our plates and big food manufacturing factories. Researches show that the world wastes more food than it eats, and we are generating almost thrice of the food we need to feed every single of the Earth’s residents. The UK food industry alone produces 2 million tons of surplus food every year, despite these almost 70000 children in London reaching school without breakfast. The Felix project aims to solve this problem by collecting the surplus food from all over London and distributing it to many needy schools.

This campaign’s effect has been such that they received almost double the number of donations they initially estimated and got wide coverage on social media with the help of Social 8 and Food tryb and a large number of social media influencers. The campaigners were also able to secure a great amount of coverage from BBC and London live.

The Felix project has given rise to a much-needed movement of delivering the excess food to the right place. More such campaigns need to come up.

Air pollution is that form of pollution that is often ignored due to…

Air pollution is that form of pollution that is often ignored due to its invisibility, but the effects of this are terrifying. London, which is considered a low pollution city, has more than 10000 people dying every year because of toxic air. The Central Office for Public Interest started this awareness campaign where every property will be rated under a five-band air quality meter on Addresspollution.org.

London citizens don’t care about the air quality and the issued warning, so the Central office for public interest-targeted something more substantial, ‘The property prices.’ For this campaign, Addresspollution.org took 6 Million data points with NO2 levels and developed a five-band rating for every address in London with a detailed report on the health effects and financial costs of living in such an environment. As a result of this campaign, 10% of London’s households have registered and generated an air quality report. This will also lead to several environmental policy changes by the government.

The campaign follows a unique and effective way of addressing the invisible problem of Air pollution. The results are impressive and will have everlasting effects.

Five more humorous spots from Lanfranco & Cordova, NY and Lima, Peru, have…

Five more humorous spots from Lanfranco & Cordova, NY and Lima, Peru, have been released to promote The One Show 2020 call for entries, deadline January 31, 2020, Change your destiny.

Playing off the idea that a little bit of luck can help a piece of creative work stand out from all the great competition, Lanfranco & Cordova traveled to the Peruvian Andes to enlist the mystical services of Cleofe, an actual shaman who blesses entries. The first spot of the entertaining “Change Your Destiny” campaign launched in September 2019.

In the new :30 spots, the agency takes us behind the scenes to watch Cleofe blessing creative work that has actually been submitted to this year’s One Show:

“8000km Runway” by Goodzilla/Shanghai for Jack Jones

“Dietz Nuts” by Red Tettemer O’Connell + Partners for Dietz and Watson

“Stop At Nothing” by Widen+Kennedy London for Nike

“Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Party Challenge – Titanic” by VH1

Virtual Blessing

“Winning a One Show Pencil is both a great honor and extremely difficult,” said Rolando Cordova, CCO, co-founder, Lanfranco & Cordova, NY and Lima. “We decided to offer agencies and brands some help this year by working with an actual Peruvian shaman to star in the campaign and give positive energy to all the work entered in the show.”

According to the agency, the campaign concept has some roots in reality. The co-founders said they know some creative colleagues who go to various lengths to give their work good luck before entering it in awards shows for judging.

“We partnered with local production company Señor Z in Lima and traveled to the remote Peruvian Andes to find Cleofe, who practices ancient blessing rituals,” said Gian Carlo Lanfranco, L&C CCO, co-founder. “He was great to work with, and serves as the centerpiece of these fun content films.”

“The beauty of the idea is that it’s simple and entertaining,” said Kevin Swanepoel, CEO, The One Club for Creativity. “The One Show exists to elevate and celebrate the best work in the world. With so much amazing creative work entered each year, a little bit of extra luck could make the difference in an entry breaking through with our judges.”

Volvo Plastic Car, Tactical outdoor poster to highlight Volvos increasing use of recycled…

Volvo Plastic Car, Tactical outdoor poster to highlight Volvos increasing use of recycled plastics in its cars.

Volvo Cars’ ambition that at least 25% of all plastics in cars launched after 2025 will be made from recycled material. It’s the most progressive statement around the use of recycled plastic by any premium automotive manufacturer, and is another step in our sustainability journey.

“Volvo is continually seeking new ways to reduce our environmental impact across the board. We are demonstrating our intention by building a demo version of the XC60 T8 plug-in hybrid, which made its debut at the Ocean Summit, at the Volvo Ocean Race Gothenburg Stopover. The race’s focus on sustainability is in partnership with the United Nations Environment’s Clean Seas campaign, which asks individuals, governments and business to ‘Turn the Tide on Plastic’.

This specially-built version of the XC60 looks almost identical to the existing model, but has had over 60 kilos of its plastic parts replaced with parts made of recycled materials.

Some of the 170 recycled plastic parts include the tunnel console that runs down the centre of the front seats, made from renewable fibres and plastics from discarded fishing nets and maritime ropes.

The seats are sewn from two different kinds of textiles, both of which are made from recycled plastic bottles. The vacuum reservoir under the bonnet, which helps to regulate the turbo engine pressure, is made of recycled fabrics from airbags. The plastic coating is taken from the fabric left over when airbags are cut out. It’s then broken down and reconstituted to make hard plastic.
The hood absorber that sits under the bonnet and helps to absorb sound, is made from used Volvo car seats. The plastic foam inside the seats is taken, processed and formed into a sound absorber layer.”

Millennials, as well as the young adults of Generation Z, are often criticized…

Millennials, as well as the young adults of Generation Z, are often criticized for their excessive dependence on technology, and social-media inspired cultural trends. They are stereotypically presumed to be entitled, pretentious, lazy, and egoistic. However, painting such a conservative social picture of two entire generations is as detrimental as stating that all women should be housewives. Thankfully, the British Army has made it clear with a recent recruitment campaign that it stands against this over-generalized view of today’s youth. Your Army Needs You is a recruitment drive targeted at incorporating gamers and snowflakes into the British armed forces.

The campaign has been conceptualized by a London-based advertising agency called Karmarama and manifests itself in the form of short films, radio adverts, and posters. The storytelling ideology of the campaign revolves around themes like Stamina, Spirit, and Resilience. The material in the series talks about the unique abilities of different sections of the youth and leaves the targeted audience with a call-for-action. For instance, one video of the campaign pushes the idea that gamers of today have the stamina that the British Army needs. The other promotional content of the campaign makes its impact along the same lines.

We feel that this forward-thinking initiative of the British Army will provide many youngsters with a sense of purpose. The campaign’s heart lies in the creative delivery of its intended message. Consequently, it is bound to resonate with today’s youth!

The Big Ben in London has been under scaffolding since more than a…

The Big Ben in London has been under scaffolding since more than a year and is not scheduled to re-open soon. This means that the people of London and tourists are missing out on the iconic bell and its sound while passing by the Big Ben. But Taco Bell seems to go all ding in the silence! Yes, it is this silence around Big Ben that inspired Taco Bell to come up with an activation idea that involves a ding to announce their arrival in London! But not explicitly. Taco Bell Big Ben Activation

Taco Bell had an audio engineer make a digital version of its signature ding or bell that resembled the classic Westminster chimes. This new ding was made to ring via parametric speakers hidden under wraps in a passing auto rickshaw! How cool is that! And the passers-by were delighted to hear the sweet chime similar to Big Ben again. Few even stood wondering as to how the bell of the Big Ben is ringing when it is still under scaffolding!

We think this activation stunt truly brings a sweet surprise and fun and wonder to Londoners while marking the fast food chain’s entry into London with a bang!

One of the few qualities of a bear, supposedly, is to be empathetic…

One of the few qualities of a bear, supposedly, is to be empathetic and altruistic. And maybe, that’s the reason McCann London and BreezoMeter, a firm that monitors hyperlocal pollution in real time decided to use an animatronic teddy bear, called Toxic Toby the #CleanAirBear to bring everyone’s attention to an unseen killer that’s silently killing the people of London on the streets.

ToxicToby, embedded with 3D technology, was provisionally perched onto a streetlight across the Brixton Road. The street across the Brixton Road was chosen as it is one of the most polluted streets in London, where the silent killer lurks often. So how does it work?

Whenever air pollution level around the street attains and surpasses a certain threshold deemed dangerous, BreezoMeter’s air quality data triggers the bear to elevate its paw towards its mouth and cough. And as Toxic Toby coughs, it also alerts local politicians, urging the authorities to reduce air pollution.

This activity proved that there are staggeringly more people dying each year in London from inhaling toxic air than from accidents on the road. Hence, Toxic Toby was perched alongside flowers, a stark representation of a memorial to the many dead citizens who were killed by the unseen, silent killer – polluted air. A deafening shout-out to London’s authorities to restore air quality to legal and safe levels!

Nicorette – Augmented Reality – London 2018 Nicorette is a brand that has…

Nicorette – Augmented Reality – London 2018

Nicorette is a brand that has its reach in many places across the globe. The products manufactured by Nicorette are based on Nicotine Replacement Therapy. They help smoking addicts get rid of their abnormally high dependency on cigarettes. In a recent augmented reality-based campaign in London, Nicorette partnered with a slacklining instructor named David. David himself used to be someone plagued by smoking and had quit his habit in 2016. The campaign called ‘Augmented Reality – Nicorette’ was executed at the Kings Cross station in London.

The brains behind the design of the campaign come from 3rockAR. The company designs AR based campaigns for different clients. As detailed in the promo, Nicorette gave commuters at the King Cross station a chance to experience the thrill of being like David. By the virtue of augmented reality, the commuters were given a glimpse of what it feels like to perform slacklining.

We feel that Nicorette made judicious use of the technological advancement at hand. The brand not only made a name for itself but passed on the following thought-provoking message: What would you start if you quit smoking for good?

Coca-Cola Augmented Reality Stockholm Mall of Scandinavia 2018

Coca-Cola is a brand that needs no introduction. Ever since 1886, the brand has sold carbonated beverages in different parts of the world. The 132-year-old origin of the brand traces back to the United States, but the brand’s geographical reach has expanded exponentially over the years. In a recent campaign held at the Mall of Scandinavia, the brand made use of Augmented Reality. The campaign was targeted at inculcating the habit of recycling used coke cans.

As portrayed in the promo designed by 3rockAR, coca-cola cans and bottles came to life and allowed the bystanders at the mall to dispose them with their hand gestures. The message displayed at the end of the campaign was to keep it going and recycle.

We feel that it was about time that a brand as big as coca-cola made use of Augmented Reality in one of their campaigns. The call-for-action at the end makes the whole initiative even more worthwhile.

Brioche Pasquier Augmented Reality London 2017

Brioche Pasquier is a famous agri-foods brand based in France. Some of the types of bread manufactured by Brioche Pasquier are popular across the globe. Recently, in a campaign executed at the Kings Cross station in London, the brand spread the message of fitness in an innovative way. The Brioche Pasquier Augmented Reality campaign in London encouraged the commuters at the station to get in shape by performing some basic exercises.

As displayed in the promo designed by 3RockAR, a Brioche Pasquier bread came to life and acted as the exercise instructor for the bystanders at the station. This augmented reality-based campaign spread the message of fitness while being as goofy as possible. At times, commuters were even told to dab to the instructions of the virtual packet of Brioche Pasquier bread.

We believe that in this era of technology, the advertising agency is looking at a very bright future. The fact that some well-known brands are already tapping the vast potential of augmented reality is pretty exciting!

Kellogg’s Augmented Reality Island Adventure by Blippar

Kellogg’s is a food manufacturing brand based in the United States. It is best known across the globe for its breakfast cereals. In a recent campaign, Kellogg’s turned its cereal packagings into adventure islands. Blippar, a London-based technology company that specializes in augmented reality acted as the brain behind the interactive Kellogg’s cereal boxes.

The promo video for the campaign showcases different interactive games designed by Blippar. All the games not only act as sources of fun but also instill educational learning in children. The whole ideology behind the campaign was to enable kids to learn things using Augmented Reality and to give them the needed push to go back to school. The interactive campaign has been pushed out for over 16 million boxes of different Kellogg’s breakfast cereals.

We feel that Kellogg’s has picked up an interesting subject as the basis of this campaign. The added flare of augmented reality takes the execution of the idea another notch!

Bareburger + Kabaq – Snapchat marketing campaign

Ever since its foundation in 2009, Bareburger has been a food chain that primarily manufactures burgers. However, unlike other food chains, Bareburger takes an organic approach to all its products. In a recent augmented reality-based campaign, Bareburger has declared its active attempt to replace paper menus altogether.

As displayed in the promo, Bareburger gives users the power to open Snapchat and view real images of food items using augmented reality. KabaQ 3D Food is responsible for the development of the Snapchat based 3D menu-display. In the beginning phase, the campaign is restricted to 4 burger types. However, advancements can certainly be expected in the future.

We think that augmented reality can drastically change the restaurant dining scenario in the near future. Bareburger’s attempt to replace paper menus with 3-D food displays is just the beginning!

After tugging at your heartstrings last year with ‘Fuelled by Love’, British Airways brings you its latest brand campaign ‘Discover the London You Don’t Know’. In the form of a short film, the campaign showcases a versatile London, which, while being immersed in legacy, provides young millennials with its contemporary delights.

Seen through the eyes of a young man from Chennai who discovers his grandfather’s journal, the viewers are taken on a journey in which he relives his grandfather’s time in London, eventually discovering a city he did not know. Blending nostalgia with youthful exuberance, the protagonist savours London from new perspectives.

The three-minute video ‘Discover the London You Don’t Know’ is now live on British Airways’ YouTube channel. It has been directed by critically acclaimed filmmaker, Amit Masurkar who is known for directing Sulemani Keeda and upcoming movie, Newton.
