Adobe Where I’m From campaign, to celebrate the Vibrancy of Asian and Pacific Islander Creativity

Culture shapes, creativity inspires. They are celebrating Asian and Pacific Islander Creativity. See the stories of eight boundary-defying API artists who flip the script on the all-too-common question, “where are you from?” to lay claim to the myriad identities that inspire their work.

“Where I’m From” aims to highlight creators who embrace their roots and whose creativity is fueled by their one-of-a-kind experiences. With that, we are partnering with HYPEBEAST to provide an engaging and narrative-driven platform for emerging creatives to showcase their work. Driven by the idea that talent recognizes talent, we asked designer Dao-Yi Chow, co-founder of Public School New York and creative director of Sergio Tacchini, to identify three individuals he believes represent the next generation of influential designers and artists.

To inspire others, HYPEBEAST, an authority in streetwear, fashion, and culture, will feature in-depth and insightful conversations between Chow and emerging creators. These articles will recount the stories of their career journey, the ethos of their unique craft, and how their backgrounds and experiences inspire their art.

“Where I’m From” was made in collaboration with creative agency 72andSunny and production studio Psyop.

The US has some of the most expensive cellular data plans in the world. Xfinity Mobile, however, is a new kind of network designed to save people money.

Xfinity Mobile is turning pre-roll ads into price tags by calculating how much money people are spending on data to stream an upcoming YouTube video to show how overpriced other plans are in their Data in Dollars campaign.

For example, if someone is about to watch a five-minute beauty-tutorial video, they are shown an ad that tells them, “The next tutorial could cost you up to $1.06 cents in data. So switch to Xfinity Mobile and save.”

The prices shown in each film change depending on the length of the video the person is about to stream and the cost of data with their specific carrier.

Help build a future we can all live in – Wildlife Impact Card by MasterCard

Brand invites you to send a virtual Wildlife Impact gift card to friends and loved ones, which can be used everywhere Debit Mastercard® is accepted.
Each card features a Critically Endangered animal, along with an expiry date that highlights just how short the timeframe is for protecting these animals from extinction. For every card purchased, a $1 donation will go to Conservation International to help protect wildlife and the habitats of many Critically Endangered Species including the Sunda Pangolin, African Forest Elephant, Peruvian Yellow-Tailed Woolly Monkey, and the Black-and-White Ruffed Lemur.

The first card offerings launch in the U.S. in partnership with USIO, with virtual prepaid cards available now to be added to any mobile wallet. Coming this summer, these physical cards are made of eco-friendly materials to keep expired cards from contributing to plastic pollution. In the meantime, virtual cards can be used to shop online or can be added to a mobile wallet for in-store purchases.

Many Critically Endangered species may go extinct by the time these cards expire. In partnership with Conservation International, Mastercard is turning the card expiration date into a tool to create awareness about the importance of protecting wildlife.

“As a company committed to fostering a sustainable future for all, we believe an important aspect of that is to protect Critically Endangered species and the habitats in which they live,” said Raja Rajamannar, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, MasterCard. “Through our strong partnership with Conservation International, one of the world’s leading conservation organizations, we’ve created a way to connect consumers to their passion for wildlife and the natural world, enabling them to contribute and make an impact.”

“Every extinction is a tragedy — for the species, for nature, and for people,” said Dr. M.Sanjayan, CEO of Conservation International. “Wildlife is critical to securing benefits like cleaner water and more fertile soils. When we destroy animal habitats, we don’t just put these benefits at risk; we create entirely new challenges to our health and our ability to address climate change. Saving nature has always been about saving ourselves, which is why we are proud to partner with MasterCard to provide a simple way for consumers to take immediate action to help protect wildlife and their habitats.”

The Mood Modifier from SOLO App Research has long connected the loneliness of…

The Mood Modifier from SOLO App

Research has long connected the loneliness of older adults living in long-term care to physical decline. But during the global pandemic, the situation has vastly deteriorated. Lockdowns have forced aged residents to experience greater social isolation. Cut off from outside visitors and contact other residents; they’ve suffered increased stress, anxiety, depression, even death.

As a result, millions of residents’ emotional health has seen a significant decline—calling for a new technological solution. But how can we improve people’s emotional well-being in long-term care when we don’t know how they truly feel?

The Mood Modifier from SOLO. The first mobile app that detects emotions and picks a selection of personalized music to help patients get back in the rhythm of life.

The mobile’s camera utilizes facial recognition to detect emotions

Then creates a unique data imprint that ranks happiness, calmness, sadness, energy, and mood

This collection of emotional algorithms triggers the AI-predicting model and selects the right music for their emotional state With a simple user-set up and daily, monthly, and annual tracking, the user and staff keep on top of progress made.

This idea and application give older adults a renewed sense of happiness and joy by enabling them to modify their moods.

The holiday season will look a little different in NYC this year. Pepsi teamed up with Desus Nice and The Kid Mero aka the Bodega Boys in The Bodega Giveback campaign to give back to the bodegas that keep us going.

Every year, New York City becomes the centre of the holiday season, with tourists from around the world traveling in to witness its magic and festive traditions firsthand. With the season looking different this year and many staying local, Pepsi wants to do something extra special for the City’s very own and very deserving group – its bodega owners. For New Yorkers, bodegas are 24/7 landmarks of each neighborhood, and in 2020, owners rose to the task of staying open and keeping the City going during a critical time.

DoorDash proudly celebrate the diversity of cuisines and cultures that uniquely make up…

DoorDash proudly celebrate the diversity of cuisines and cultures that uniquely make up America. Today they continue that celebration through Art For Foodies. Their first-ever bilingual campaign aimed to uplift Latin voices in both the restaurant and art communities.

They partnered with local Latin artists and restaurants in Miami to bring unique art to your door, all while supporting the vibrant community that keeps Miami alive.

Here’s how it works:
Order authentic Latin dishes to own exclusive art: They’ve partnered with seven Miami-based, well-known Latin artists, to celebrate their respective heritages. By ordering authentic dishes from local restaurants, customers can acquire unique local art. For example, a Peruvian restaurant will feature art from a Peruvian artist.

Irrespective of our nationality or religion, we’re all human beings at the end…

Irrespective of our nationality or religion, we’re all human beings at the end of the day. However, the separations inherent to this world often defeat said oneness. Even with families living across the globe, we can’t always meet our loved ones. With visa rejection doubling in the US alone since 2016, the situation has only worsened. Thankfully, a campaign by Virgin Atlantic Airlines and Martini addresses this problem head-on. It even presents a solution. Titled AirTime, it aims to reconnect loved ones separated by physical borders. To achieve its outcome, Air Time will facilitate passport-free international travel. How exactly? By chartering private planes to travel across the globe. Thanks to Air Time, a lucky few will get a chance to meet their friends and family. The campaign is pretty ambitious and seems to have its heart in the right place.

All in all, we feel that AirTime gives us a unique lens to reevaluate global differences. Ultimately, it advocates for love being the supreme emotion.

Pinterest aims to change the beauty landscape and highlight diverse voices in new…

Pinterest aims to change the beauty landscape and highlight diverse voices in new ways. From magazines to social media to video tutorials, the beauty standards are overwhelmingly white, and Pinterest is kicking off an initiative that aims to Make the World See All Beauty.

Pinterest has made a commitment to ensure that half of its managed creators come from underrepresented groups – and its launching a tool to support these groups alongside a new brand campaign.

The image-sharing social media platform is introducing a way for retailers, advertisers, and creators to self-identify if they’re from an underrepresented group so that their content can appear 50 per cent reserved for them within Story Pins and curated spaces, including the Today tab, Shopping Spotlights, and The Pinterest Shop. This feature will be rolled out in the ‘coming weeks’.

Pinterest has also launched its ‘Make the World See Beauty’ campaign, which aims to start a conversation around beauty and representation. The campaign, which has launched with a social film and V Magazine cover wrap, showcases 10 creators who are pushing the boundaries when it comes to representation.

In 2019, the American Medical Association classified violence against transgender people in the…

In 2019, the American Medical Association classified violence against transgender people in the U.S. as an epidemic. According to the Human Rights Campaign, as of July 2020, at least 26 transgender people have been killed, already surpassing the total from last year. The majority of these victims are Black trans women. Many deaths also go unreported, and victims are often misgendered.

Google Trends data reveals the extent to which America is searching to understand this crisis; “transphobia” and “black trans people killed” are both being searched at an all-time high.

America is also searching for ways to support transgender people. More than ever, people are searching for “Black trans organizations,” “trans activists,” and “how to be a good ally.” And in 2020, “Black Trans Lives Matter” was searched 10X more than the previous year.
Google is a committed supporter of The Marsha P. Johnson Institute (MPJI) and its mission to end violence against all trans people across the U.S. In addition to defending and protecting Black trans people’s lives, MPJI is also expanding its COVID-19 relief efforts for trans communities. As part of our ongoing commitments to advance racial justice, Google.org recently donated to MPJI, which will expand the organization’s relief work.

Ad featuring “Kim Jong-un” and “Vladimir Putin” to illustrate that unless the American people take immediate action to fix political corruption, voter suppression gerrymandering, and our broken election systems democracy will collapse. First Ever Use of Deepfake Technology in political campaign.

This footage isn’t real but the threat is. It’s time to put country over party and protect our democracy.

“For decades, America has been gerrymandered, votes have been suppressed and voters purged, money has taken over our political system. In 2020, we’re seeing it all come home to roost,” said Joshua Graham Lynn, co-founder and President of RepresentUs. “By featuring two leaders who have a vested interest in the collapse of our democratic system, we are putting the American people face-to-face with just how fragile our democracy really is. We hope it inspires Americans to come together to fight for this one issue that unites us all.”

RepresentUs has an urgent message for the American people: Our democracy lives and dies with you. If we do not stand up and fight for it, it could be the end of democracy as we know it. Ahead of November’s critical elections, the unprecedented obstacles that Americans face casting their ballots safely and securely during the ongoing pandemic are aggravated by countless other election threats. Among them, a dramatic shortage of poll workers, interference with the United States Postal Service, and widespread misinformation to undermine the security and validity of mail-in voting, and now a President who refuses to commit to a peaceful transfer of power should results not end up in his favor.

“Deepfakes are an entirely new kind of threat to democracy and the integrity of the media. This ad exposes the threat for all to see,” said RepresentUs co-founder and CEO Josh Silver.

Shepard Fairey is an artist renowned for his famous “Hope” image of Barack Obama as well as the artwork on the current cover of Time magazine. Mr Fairey has been equally active in Milwaukee, WI, where this month, along with local artists and the support of Wallpapered City, he painted a large voting rights mural on the Colby Abbot Building, located on Milwaukee St. The mural reads, “Voting Rights are Human Rights” and spans 7,400 square feet of wall space. Hanson Dodge, a Milwaukee-based independent advertising agency with deep ties to the community, documented the making of this mural. The project promotes unity, equity and creativity in Milwaukee. Fairey and his Obey Giant team worked with four Wisconsin artists — Tyanna Buie, Niki Johnson, Tom Jones and Claudio Martinez — along with Dyani White Hawk of Minnesota. In addition to Wallpapered City, local support was provided by Patti Keating-Kahn, Black Box Fund MKE, The Pfister and the Milwaukee Bucks. The mural is believed to be such a powerful expression that VISIT Milwaukee, which markets the Greater Milwaukee area, has added the “Voting Rights” mural to its list of many reasons to “Visit Milwaukee.”

Shepard Fairey –
“What I wanted to do on my last trip to Milwaukee is remind people how important it is to assert their right to vote. The inspiration behind the art of this “Voting Rights are Human Rights” mural is the image of an anonymous marcher from a civil rights march, originally photographed by Steve Schapiro. I felt that this subject is emblematic of the ongoing fight.

It was important to me that I wasn’t the only voice in this piece. I feel very lucky that artists Tyanna Buie, Niki Johnson, Tom Jones, Claudio Martinez, and Dyani Whitehawk, were open to being included in the mural to demonstrate the need for voting rights and racial and social justice! I hope that people will look at this mural and be reminded that their voice matters in shaping the future.

Special thanks to my mural crew for all the hard work, Hanson Dodge for this awesome video, and to Wallpapered City, Black Box Fund, the Milwaukee Bucks for the support on this project!”

Gamer Therapy: your toughest opponent doesn’t have to be yourself. Traditional gaming stereotypes…

Gamer Therapy: your toughest opponent doesn’t have to be yourself.

Traditional gaming stereotypes have become outdated. Many still associate this popular pastime with violence or suicide, but recent studies have found that people increasingly use games to build meaningful connections, open up about their feelings, and de-stress. You could say it’s a form of therapy, a way to cope with a whole new set of anxieties brought on by 2020.

They’re making it easier than ever for gamers to get the mental health care they need by bringing in licensed therapists to conduct therapy sessions while gaming.
