Samsung’s Voice Forever attempts to make the voices of love last for eternity! | Bixby Voice Forever
Science and its breakthroughs have been strongly instrumental in introducing a cure for many lethal ailments. Yet, there are a few ailments that still can’t be cured or prevented from worsening; once such ailment is the Motor Neuron Disease (MND)/ALS. Over a period of time, it makes the patient lose his or her ability to speak and move. Samsung Voice Forever campaign, inspired by Ms.Sonal’s life who is suffering from MND/ALS, is a technological breakthrough attempt to preserve her voice for her family and her dearest ones.
Samsung is putting significant efforts into modifying its Bixby technology such that it can record the patients’ voices, synthesise them and convert the voices into the voice of Bixby on a Samsung Smartphone. In this way, the patient’s family can always fall back on this technology to keep listening to the voice of their loved ones even after their voice is gone. Samsung has partnered with Asha Ek Hope foundation which is the first listed NGO in support of MND/ALS community in India to take up this initiative and to further comprehend the requirements of MND/ALS patients. This is a pilot project but we think that if it is rolled out on a large scale after the necessary tests and approvals, it will go a long way in imbuing hope, positivity, and smiles into the lives of the patients as well as their loved ones.
Bixby is a voice-powered digital assistant developed by Samsung. It is an artificial intelligence system that is designed to make device interaction easier and specifically to avoid the complexity of increasingly fully-featured devices.
