The Samsung SmartSuit – A tailor-made short track suit with 5 integrated sensors

Samsung is a worldwide Olympic partner and a proud sponsor of Sjinkie Knegt and Suzanne Schulting in the Netherlands. With Samsung’s technology, the Samsung SmartSuit has been developed to help the short trackers to break through their magical boundaries. This innovative short track suit became an essential part in their Olympic preparation for PyeongChang. What for Sjinkie and Suzanne resulted in bronze, the first Olympic silver and the historic first gold ever for the Netherlands!

Until now it was estimated on the basis of eye and feeling how deep short trackers were. While every millimeter counts! Because the deeper you sit, the faster you go. In co-creation with the short-track national coach Jeroen Otter and movement scientist Bjorn de Laat, Samsung has developed this suit that measures down to the millimeter the height of the hips to the ice.
