Those acquainted with the world of gaming are no strangers to Overwatch. The multiplayer online FPS has one of the biggest player-bases out there. Moreover, a huge chunk of that player-base is female. In an ideal world, that would not be a cause for concern. But, in the morally-corrupt one we live in, female players in Overwatch faced an onslaught of harassment at the hands of sexist trolls.
However, practical constraints related to verifying online harassment deterred Overwatch from taking corrective action. Thankfully, things are about to change in Overwatch 2. The game’s new release is all-set to deploy the Tag of Shame.
This progressive AI-powered feature allows Overwatch 2 to identify offenders who engage in verbal harassment. After identifying such perpetrators, the Tag of Shame will make their indiscretions apparent to the player-base. Therefore, everyone can steer clear of them and enjoy a healthy and safe gameplay environment.
At the end of the day, the game will once again become hospitable to its female warriors!
