The Unreachables – Turkcell uses a missed called message to find thousands of missing people!
Turkcell, the leading mobile phone operator of Turkey, based in Istanbul in partnership with The Families of Missing Persons Association, and TBWA (the agency) launched The Unreachables campaign. After studying the case study we can say that it is arguably the most (and perhaps the first of its kind) brilliant piece of communication that uses a medium that is in the hand of millions of people so tactfully. How? By using the subscriber unreachable voice clip as a new medium!
When you call somebody and if she cannot be reached you hear this standard voice clip play – The person you have called in not reachable”. But now it doesn’t end with this standard voice clip but continues with a voice of some relative of a missing person. The relative asks the callers for their help to reach his missing brother, sister, father, and so on. In the end, the message even directs the callers to the unreachables.com website. The site displays recorded data about thousands of other missing people including their names, ages, and photos. The site also throws light on important information for people as to how they can prevent their loved ones from getting lost.
