“Holding Out for Help” Campaign Uses Music to Raise Awareness About Mental Health Wait Times in Australia

Australians for Mental Health, Holding out for Help, Campaigns of the world

The Australians for Mental Health (AfMH), a grassroots advocacy organization, has collaborated with the renowned artist Reuben Styles of Peking Duk to launch the campaign “Holding out for Help.”

The campaign aims to raise awareness about the prolonged wait times that individuals with mental health issues experience when seeking treatment. The initiative employs hold music that features messages embedded with Styles’ tracks, urging Australians to convert their “hold” time into “help” time and sign a petition for better mental health reform and government funding. The campaign is being delivered through AIA Australia’s customer service phone channels, and the music library is free to access and download for businesses of all sizes and sectors. This campaign emphasizes the need for mental health reform and funding to help millions of Australians waiting for mental health support.
