KNGF Geleidehonden: The World of Rose

KNGF Geleidehonden, The World of Rose

KNGF Geleidehonden, the Royal Dutch Guide Dog Foundation, is mainly known for helping visually-impaired people. But there are people with other disabilities whose lives can benefit from a professionally-trained dog, which is why the new brand strategy was developed: ‘KNGF opens worlds’.

This led to a new campaign, including a series of films showing the positive impact of a guide dog on the lives of people with a physical disability or specific conditions, such as PTSS.

In the first film, we open the world of Rose, who uses a wheelchair. The story shows how dynamics between a husband and wife can change when one has to deal with a disability. And how an assistance dog can be of help.

The films are animated stories. A carefully-considered choice is designed to get the viewer as engaged as possible with the main character’s world. A world that’s different from most people’s daily reality. The film is part of a series that will be released in early 2021.

Jakko Achterberg, Creative Partner Selmore: “Over the upcoming period, we will continue to open new worlds together with KNGF Geleidehonden. By using animation, we make those worlds visible and tangible.”

The films are being created in collaboration with 3D-animation studio Colorbleed. Tom Hankins, owner/art director, Colorbleed: “It was important for us to emphasize the human aspect in the films. We managed to do so by focussing on the natural mimics in character animation and the sympathy in the faces. This, along with the hand-crafted style and guiding vocal music, ensure the films have a big impact on the viewer.”

SoundCircus was in charge of sound, while Dutch band HAEVN provided the music, writing the song `Finding Our Way’ especially for this first film.
