Uber is a name that has transformed the idea of hiring cabs forever. From 2009 to now, the company has made a massive expansion by being functional in 785 metropolitan areas across the globe. The simplest indicator of the company’s success is the fact that you no longer get a taxi, you get an Uber. Well, for a company like Uber, Super Bowl is a one-of-its-kind sporting event. Therefore, the transportation company recently came with a campaign called Uber Unhappy Hour in Super Bowl 2019 ads to make its mark among the bustle and cheer in an iconic day for American Football enthusiasts.

The Unhappy Hour is a chance for Uber Rewards members to grab a ride for free on Super Bowl day if they belong to the losing city. The only restrictions to the offer are that members need to avail it within 60 minutes of the game’s end, and cannot get a discount of more than $50. Russell Wilson is the public face of the campaign and makes a fitting addition owing to his own Super Bowl experiences. By the virtue of the Unhappy Hour campaign, supporters of the losing team will have something to be merry about after watching their hopes crumble under the opposing team’s victory.

We feel that this campaign says a lot about the kind of company Uber strives to be. It is a stark example of a customer-centric approach, and depicts why Uber has reached the heights it has!
