Hyundai’s Stand Up To Cancer Spot is a TV ad without being made like one!

Hyundai - stand up to cancer

Hyundai wanted to create a TV ad to thank all those people who helped Hyundai to raise money for cancer patients through their ‘Stand Up to Cancer’ campaign. But they didn’t have the budget or didn’t want to put huge money in a TV ad but rather channelize it to raise more funds. So what did they do? They made a TV ad anyway but without spending almost nothing.

Hyundai along with INNOCEAN created a spot using user-generated content displayed on placards communicating a thank you message to all those who helped raise funds for cancer. In the spot, you will see everything stripped down to no make-up, no expensive sets, no pricey locations, and no influencers or celebrities. It’s just about the agency’s and Hyundai’s team members chipping in to convey a big thank you to all the generous contributors through a medium that is simple, direct and clear – a placard.

The people who helped Hyundai raise more funds for cancer did things like car washing, paddling, climbing, cycling, holding bake sales and some even dyed their hair orange. Wow! Hyundai is further gearing up to surpass last year’s total and collect even more in funds through their Stand Up To Cancer 2018 campaign. All this money will be used to help speed up life-saving research and care for cancer patients.
