From rival Artificial intelligences to newlywed wives – The Wedding of Siri & Alexa
On April 12, 2019, history created itself when attendees at the Belvedere castle in Vienna witnessed the world’s first AI marriage. The Wedding of Siri & Alexa ceremony professed the idea that love is a concept that transcends gender. In this campaign supporting LGBTQ+ rights, the Vienna Tourist Board partnered with Serviceplan-Munich to give birth to a ceremonial exchange of vows between the two Artificial Intelligence.
The guests at the wedding included LGBTQ+ celebrities from Austria who attended the ceremony a month ahead of the EuroPride event that is to be held in June. After the officiation of the union between Siri and Alexa, the newlywed couple even made its way through Vienna in a horse-drawn carriage.
The emotional reaction of the guests present in the audience signified how moving a love story beyond definitions can be.
