Garbage trucks are an integral part of our daily lives, but their environmental impact has often been overlooked. The smoke, heat, and noise generated by these vehicles have long posed health risks to sanitation workers, including a heightened risk of lung cancer due to gas emissions.

By harnessing hydrogen car technology, we set out to revolutionize garbage trucks, transforming them into environmentally-friendly, zero-emission vehicles. The result was the Hydrogen Garbage Truck, a vehicle that emits minimal noise and heat, thereby drastically improving the working conditions for sanitation workers.

One of the standout features of the Hydrogen Garbage Truck is its portable sink, addressing a critical need for sanitation workers who were previously unable to clean themselves after exposure to pollutants during their work shifts.

In the past, Hyundai Motor Group’s hydrogen car, NEXO, accounted for a mere 0.3% of our electric vehicle sales. The root cause of this limited adoption was the lack of consumer exposure to and understanding of hydrogen cars.

Today, thanks to initiatives like the Hydrogen Garbage Truck campaign, the tide is turning. Hydrogen cars are gaining the recognition they deserve, with a 29.3% increase in sales and a 30% boost in purchase consideration.
