Change the Ref partnered with Fight Gunfire With Fire to transform the Fearless Girl to a #FearfulGirl. But why?
You all would be aware of the famous Fearless Girl statue in New York City, a bronze sculpture designed by Kristen Visbal and commissioned by State Street Global Advisors via McCann New York, depicting a girl facing the Charging Bull statue. But do you know now that it is no more a fearless girl but has transformed into a #FearfulGirl? Why are we calling it a transformation? It is a transformation as this Fearful Girl who adorns a bulletproof vest over her chest is standing tall as a call out to the concerned authorities to take action against gun violence and establish required gun laws. The credit for this brave installation goes to Manuel Oliver and his wife Patricia whose 7-year-old Joaquin Oliver was slain during the Parkland school gunfire. Their nonprofit Change the Ref partnered with Fight Gunfire With Fire (founded by The One Club for Creativity and MullenLowe) to bring forth the #FearfulGirl initiative.
We feel that this fearful girl will truly make the voices of victims (who may have survived) and of the feared parents and kids alike to fall on the ears of concerned authorities for a much-awaited gun reform.
She can’t be fearless if she’s afraid to go to school. #fearfulgirl pic.twitter.com/6XO3x8bwpS
